For some reason the ANime plugin keeps telling me: OTHER: LoginFailed:
But I'm sure I filled in my AnimeDB info corectly.

This most likely caused by a missing or outdated ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.
You can find the correct version HERE.

I had this issue as well. What I ended up doing was wait an hour and then try again, and all was well.

I can confirm that the login is not working - for the new 2.1.0 RC.

I've checked so far the usual issues:
    • retyping of login / pw
    • using latest ICSharp***.dll
    • disabling firewall
    • changing ip address

So my best guess is that something with the plugin is not correct

    Cheers,

EDIT: Seems like the log file is reporting some wrong dependencies to the ICSHARP***.dll. As it is the one from the download page of the plugin web-site I assume either there was an error during compilation or the dll provided is outdated.

EDIT2: The new RC2 seems to resolve the problem. Login is working now.
Only additional observation so far is that the shadow.xml is still not corrected :)

Ok i'll fix up the xml file for the proper release.

Just a note - the RC releases are just meant for our internal testing.
But please feel welcome to test them out if you want :)

    Will do :)

    One further question:
The search Panel input is working quite good now.
It took me a whole to find the info how to switch for the remote to T9 mode (Ctrl-m).

May I propose to have an entry in the config to toggle the setting?

    Cheers,

Normally the shortcut keys should be displayed in the search panel, like it is for the Monochrome skin. I just never found the time (and the willpower) to fix all 6 skins.
I don't know if we'll add it to the config menu too ... the menu is becoming quite packed already.

    Example for monochrome:

There are indeed 2 known causes for the LoginFailed problem: either the dll is missing or outdated, or the last session wasn't properly ended (you didn't logout). In the latter case AniDB blocks new logins for one to several hours.

The search is working and the search window is also appearing as soon as you type a key. Only problem was that it is starting with the normal keyboard mode as default, which only recognised the numbers of the remote. Limited quite significantly the search strings.

I also did use the RC version.
Switched to an older version and everything is fine now.

    Cheers,

The search mode is saved & restored on restart, so if you only use one mode (like I do myself) you shouldn't have any problems. If you switch to text mode, it's currently impossible to go back to T9 mode with the remote only (or you should map a remote key to ctrl+m).
I originally planned to use the # key to switch search modes (if the current search text is empty), but I thought it would be strange to use that key in text mode too: if somebody hit it by accident, they would suddenly switch modes ... so I decided against it.
