Somehow one episode(file) is missing in MyAnime3, but it is there with the other episode files and playable with a stand alone player(mpc-hc). I've tried JMM Desktop and the episode is listed under Missing Episodes but it's not under Unrecognized. How can I make MyAnime find the file and match it to the missing episode?

The file might have been linked to a different episode than it should have been.
I have some un-released functionality in JMM Desktop that allows you to search for a file, and see what it is attached to.
I will try and get it released today some time
Great, looking forward to it. :)

Great, looking forward to it. :)

Sorry having some issues with my host for automatic updates. Trying to get them resolved.
If I can't in the next couple of days, I will do a full release to the google code page instead

    Hi Iwerndly,

    Before trying alternative means:
Is it possible to get the server installed as a service?
I would like to run the server on WHS and need it is started w/o login of a user.

Also, what needs to be backed up (and where is it located) in case of failure or when trying to relocate the server to a different computer?
For MyAnime2 it was rather easy: db-file from database folder and the rest can be build up rather easily

    Cheers,

Sorry no direct support for installing as a service, but planned for the future.

If you are relocating the server to another PC, you will need to migrate your database.
If you are using sqlite, the process is the same as MA2.
The best thing to do would be to copy the whole JMM Server folder, so you get all the images as well.

If you are using mysql or mssql, you will need to migrate the database. If you need help with that let me know.

Also you will need to modify the locations of your import folders in JMM server to point to the right locations.

By the way, did you make any progress at the Linux MySQL Issue?
I am now using MA3 in SQLite mode on three PC's, it working but keeping all PC's sync is just a pain.

    ok, thanks.

    I used the mysql database.

maybe as future feature, havin a backup or export/import function (e.g. as xml) would be appreciated.

For program launch: I discovered that JMM server permits to start several instances. This creates some problem when you try to start JMM blindly every time you wake up the WHS. Would it be possible, that the server allows only one instance?
Also, is there a problem if JMM server is started without a user (and desktop) present?

    Cheers,

Sorry still no luck on this one

It would be good if I could do a backup/restore, but this is more than trivial, so I have put it as a low priority.
Both mysql and mssql natively support this, so I'll write up some instructions for now.

Yeah JMM Server intentionally allows multiple instances (You run on different ports).
But I'll make an option to disallow this.

Not sure about the last part, but I'll find out.

    Release 3.1.8

Issue #123 : Button to view log file directory
Issue #229 : JMM Server : bad link in MyAnime2 Migration tab
Issue #228 : Option to scan drop folders on startup
Get and store File Version for files from AniDB e.g. v1 or v2
Show File Version in information for files in JMM Desktop
Issue #233 : When renaming a series make sure that the new name shows up in searches in JMM Desktop
Issue #210 : New utility in JMM Desktop to allow the search of files by Hash, File Name or simply Last 100 files added to collection

    Hi Iwerndly,

Does the start of the sever requiers admin rights? I get constantly during startup under Windows 7 an UAC request which needs to be manually confirmed.
I would like to avoid fiddling in the UAC policies.

Btw. thanks for the offered help on exporting the SQL DB, but this was fairly easy.
I just transferred the db over to my local HTPC. when I discovered that this reduces the lag significantly conmpared to running it remote on my WHS.
Can I savely set the server and desktop client to the same image folder?

    Thanks & Cheers,

    Edit:
Just discovered: Using an underscore ("_") in a folder name seems to cause trouble. I used as drop folder name "Anime_Drop" which was interpreted as "Anime\_Drop". Due to that no files were identified nor shifted.

Yes JMM Server requires admin rights. I can't remember why I enforced this, but I'll try it out again and see why.
It might have been because of the file access.

Yes you can set Server and Desktop images folder to the same path. I would recommend this if they are on the same machine, but probably not if they are on different machines.

I will also take a look at the underscore issue

I don't know if somebody else already encountered the following problem:
Genshiken and Genshiken 2 are two separate series on AniDB, but on TheTVDB they are one series with two seasons. When I (manually) try to associate the second season of Genshiken from TheTVDB to Genshiken 2, I get an error, because I already associated Genshiken.
