I don't know if somebody else already encountered the following problem:
Genshiken and Genshiken 2 are two separate series on AniDB, but on TheTVDB they are one series with two seasons. When I (manually) try to associate the second season of Genshiken from TheTVDB to Genshiken 2, I get an error, because I already associated Genshiken.

Can you check that Genshiken 1 (2004) hasn't been associated with season 2 of Genshiken on TvDB?

    Hello Iwerndly,

The Missing Episodes feature did not distinguish between alternatives of a movies (e.g. where the movie is entered in AnimeDB as a single file and also as multipart files). Due to that you will get several messages for missing eps. Is it possible to have an ignore feature, so you can filter out these messages?

    Cheers,

Yeah create a work item for this quite a while ago, but haven't figured out a good way of fixing it yet

I checked, Genshiken 1 is associated to season 1 on TvDB.

Just to make sure, are you selecting Season 2 when you do the association?

I found the problem, the 2006 Genshiken OVA was already associated with season 2. Thank you for your help :).

    Hi guys.

I got this issue where some of my files are associated with the wrong episodes in the anime. It is not manually linked, so i can't unlink it. Is there a way to link the files to the right episodes? And is there a way to unlink files which are not manually linked?

I had a similar issue while re-establishing the whole DB. Due to unknown reason some eps were messed up, linking sometimes two different files to the same episode.

I just renamed them and performed a new import of these.
After some iterations, it came out fine.

This usually happens when a file is incorrectly entered on AniDB.
Once the entry is fixed on AniDB, you can force update the information which should re-link it to the correct episode locally.

    Press the "Update Info" button

    Thanks guys,
tried renaming the files (well, i only remove the underscores) but now the files went somewhere else. So it's a no-no for me. Besides, renaming just a few files will make it look ugly in the explorer folder, with the files not in order and all. Thanks anyway yhoogi.

By "Once the entry is fixed", did you mean that i have to wait until someone corrects the entry? Cause i've clicked update and seems like nothing changed. If i have to wait for someone to do it, i'd better do it myself. What part of the entry should i correct?

    EDIT:
I saw the hash for file A is matching with the hash for episode B of the anime. So i'm thinking what if i change the hash for the file instead? Well, assuming hash can be changed. Can it?

Yes you can fix it yourself, but I haven't done it myself for a long time.
First you just need to confirm that it is actually linked incorrectly on AniDB.

Click on the AniDB hyperlink in the previous screenshot. It will show you whcih anime/episode it is linked to.
