    seems there is a problem when update is triggered from Mediaportal - from Dashboard it's working just fine ...

    Have you restarted JMM Server recently?. I think a restart should fix your problems.

    Need to try - would it be possible to ad a "restart server" option to the MePo Menue?

    I have had the same issue with a few different files where I try to play the anime and it crashes media portal. I then go ahead and play that same file in VLC and WMP with no issue. I initially thought it was a codec problem so I tried using 3 different ones all with the same result, LAV, FDDshow, and Microsoft.

    I looked at the info on one of the files and it is an H264 file. I have had the problem with files from different series and different sub groups. Has anyone else had this problem? Before it was no big deal as it was only a single movie file that wouldnt play, however I now have an entire series that wont play in Media Portal but works flawlessly in everything else.

    I think I had ... but since using >>saf<< codeclist no issues anymore. Only thing is that you need to ask the dev for an unlock key so it installs required codecs automtically (otherwise you need to do it by hand)

    Is your problem also happening in other parts of MP?
    You might have better luck getting help in one of the general forums.

    All I need a little help planning a hard drive update to my file server.
    I need to replace some hard drives in my file server that holds my anime collection.

    My current plane is to replace the drive and then restore my collection from backups, so in the end the network mapping to the drives will remain the same, will this mess up MY Anime 3 database or will this work just fine?

    As long as you keep the import folders from JMM server the same you should be fine. By that I mean the same base directory structure.

    eg. if you had
    IF1 = \\FileServer\Anime1
    IF2 = \\FileServer\Anime2
    IF3 = c:\Anime3

    and then on a new server it look like this
    IF1 = \\FileServerNew\Anime1New
    IF2 = \\FileServerNew\Anime2New
    IF3 = \\FileServerNew\Anime3New

    This would be fine.
    All you need to do is go to JMM Server - Import Folders
    Double click on the import folder and put the new share name
