I'm currently in the middle of testing a new version of this plugin and the data structure of the xml file has changed a little, so I can't test it right now. Please let me know if it worked for you.

You're right MaddinM, it doesn't work in the "old" version. I get the same result.
Anyway, it works in the new version that I'm currently working on. I hope it won't take too long for me to finish it.

Finally I released a new version of My Daily Comics plugin for MediaPortal. I was able to include most things I've been promising. The version has been updated to 0.2.0. The biggest change is the graphical configuration to add, delete and change your existing comics. Please see the first post entry for more details as well as the download link. As soon as the submission is approved, you'll be able to download it.

Hi TimmyT thanks for maintining this plugin!

just started using it, ran into a little problem, not sure if it's caused by the site, could be they actively block this sort of thing.
A dutch newspaper (AD) publishes cartoons everyday, I was interested in these 2;

AD.nl - Strips - 24 uur per dag actueel nieuws
AD.nl - Strips - 24 uur per dag actueel nieuws

They work, what I entered into config for John Comic for example;
Original URL example; http://files.ad.nl/strips/image.php?strip=john&datum=2009-04-16
My Config; http://files.ad.nl/strips/image.php?strip=john&datum=[yyy]-[mm[-[dd]

should be ok but for some reason I can only view the latest image. On AD's site I can view all of them however I do notice some refreshing (maybe some JS behind it or something) that might cause Daily Comics not to pick up on it.
I also noticed that for some reason I can;t get gif files to show. Might be a MP thing or something I did wrong.

I did some quick tests with the two links that you posted... it seems to work inside configuration (if you press "test" and change the dates, i can see all the comics, not just today's). however, inside MediaPortal only today's strip is shown.
I will look into it and I hope I can deliver a solution soon.

Using the XFactor skin, I cannot see my comics. Just installed DailyComics 0.2.0. But in MP1.0.2 I see an empty screen..

I have one issue: in configuration, everything works as advertised, but when actually running MediaPortal, the end of the cartoons and banners are cut, either horizontally in for instance Garfield or vertically on more 'kvadratic' cartoons such as Closer to Home. The problem is there regardless of resolution etc.

Would be nice to be able to read the punchline

I am running MP 1.0.2 with bleazlewide 7.1

Any thoughts??

Edit the xml and adjust the size of the image. Maybe set keepAspectratio to yes
