MyVideoLibrary is my name suggestion, no confusion on what it is.

I'm a bit new to MP, I dl'd Ant set that up with 6 movies from disc_001 of my video library. Grabbed the MyDVD's plugin. I expected to somehow be able to select a file in mediaportal, be prompted insert disk 001 and then the relevent movie files(s) would be queued up and start playing. Looking at the ANT Db entries there doesn't seem to even be a field that holds eg the "m:\matrix.avi" path for the plugin to know where to look? I dropped the files on ant so it grabbed the file info (size, codecs etc) but nowhere is the actual movie filename stored?



Anyway once I can get it working I'll write a script to create a suitable file to import into Ant (if not already done) from VideoMetaData in MythTV from which I am migrating and from there into MediaPortal. I achieved a similar functionality to this in myth myself using scripts I wrote. In that case, On import/creation of the library it just prompted to insert disk after disk and grabbed the required info/covers from imdb into the myth database fast and en masse. On playback it requested disk number xxxx and then played the file(s). I'm trying to achieve similar in MP. I saw another plugin - MyFilms, I'm wondering which is best suited to the task in hand?

I tried everything. I created a list in Ant and saved it as a xml file. Then went into config and imported. It said 4 movies were imported (there were 2 progress lines but only the top one went to 100%, the bottom one never moved). When I went into MP and clicked on My DVDs nothing happened....

Playing a DVD using MyDVD Plugin

I have resolved the error that occurred when I tried to import the XML export file created by DVD Profiler.

If you export the entire collection, including wish list then the plugin crashes but if you only export the owned list then the plugin imports the xml perfectly albeit slowly.

I have stored my entire DVD collection on my HD and can play them from my HD using PowerDVD. I entered the location of each stored DVD into DVD Profiler where you recommended and imported the XML into MY DVD. The XML is imported and the cover art is displayed although it is deformed. The image box needs to be either taller or narrower.

When I click on Play DVD in the My DVD plugin, I only get a blank screen no matter what media player I use and it is most annoying to have a popup box ask me to insert the dvd into a slot. I would have expected that when I click Play DVD, the DVD would simply start playing.

What player do you recommend to use with the My DVD plugin and is there any way to remove the popup asking to insert the dvd into a slot.

It would be good if I was able to enter the file location of the videots.ifo file for the DVD I wish to play directly into the My DVD plugin. Perhaps an edit DVD file location button in the setup, and have the plugin update the database for that record rather than entering the information into DVD Profiler and then having to export and import the xml file.

I think that your plugin is very good and encourage you to continue developing and enhancing it.

This is a problem, in the next version you may specified a path or paths to the colection stored in the HD(DVD or avi stored in diferent folders with name of movie).

For now Play DVD button only try to play a DVD inserted in drive (this is no sens if autoplay is activated)

I don't know about the other supported progs but Ant Movie has fields where you can specify the file label and source, maybe you can use these fields to track the source of the file....

dukus - you said in the next version it would be possible to specify a path to the file - that would be great for those that have their DVDs store on their HD.

My ideal extension to this plugin would command my DVD changer to select the right DVD based on the "slot number" in the Movie Collectorz database (i.e., as imported to My DVDs - which works great by the way). Failing that, if I could only click on the "play DVD" button and have it execute a "My Programs" executable with the slot number as a parameter, I could use a program I have now that CAN control the DVD changer.

So, would it be possible to execute a "My Programs" executable with the slot number as a parameter? Thanks in advance for any help, and thanks for maintaining this plugin!
