Two days now i have been working on changing over from MCE to MP.
Here is a list of the problems i have encountered so far :
1 - No support for my Nova-T 500 TV tuner ( this is being worked on at the moment thanx to dman )
2 - Random but frequent stuttering when viewing live tv
3 - Audio/Video out of sync on live TV at random
4 - Very slow channel changing ( 8 Seconds ) when timeshift enabled. 1 Second when turned off
5 - Only goes into standby when it feels like it ( yes, i have power scheduler enabled ). Forget hibernation. Never works...
6 - When in standby, never wakes up to record.
7 - Built-in IR receiver in my Zalman HD160 does not work very well at all.
8 - VFD display does not work at all, even with plugin enabled.
There is more, but can't think of it all...
However, i am extremely impressed with the set of features that are offered by the software. AWESOME !!
I am doing all this to get rid of MCE. I just hope it will be all worth it in the end. There seems to be a lot of support around, but some problems i have researched have been around for over a year now, and still no resolution.
The only probs MCE is giving are :
1 - Does not go back into stanby after recording ( always )
2 - Strange black screen at random ( once a day )
3 - Sometimes remote will stop responding ( very rare )
Apart from this, it is fine. Always records on schedule, always AV sync, IR receiver works, VFD works ( although not always ).
I just wish there was a way that i could help a little more. Maybe learn programming. LOL
