There is already a My Movies import script built into Moving Pictures. The export file must be called mymovies.xml and in the same folder as the movie.

Ok, so how would it work? Is all the info in MyMovies read by Moving Pictures ie age rating etc??

The script will grab title, alternate title, sort by title, production year, imdb id, description, tagline, rating, runtime, genre, director, and actor. It will not grab the rating (PG, PG-13, R, etc) because My Movies writes a coded number rather than the actual rating. This number has different meaning depending on what region the movie was released in and this information is unfortunately not included in the XML file.

I should have mentioned this above but to enable the script:
  1. Open the Moving Pictures config screen and click the Importer Settings tab.
  2. At the bottom check the radio button to manually manage your movie data sources.
  3. Click the Movie Details Data Sources button.
  4. Click the mymovies.xml entry.
  5. Click the up arrow on the toolbar several times to make the mymovies.xml script the first to run.

From now on for new movies, Moving Pictures will first check for a mymovies.xml file in the folder the video file is stored when trying to import. If one is not found it will fall back to IMDb (or whatever source you have listed next in the data sources list).

Ok so how do I get an individual xml file for each film? By adding a film to the MyMovies database it created a filmname.dvdid xml file but I cannot seem to find and option for this mymovies.xml file (sorry but xml is new to me).

Thanks for your help.

Sorry I do not use My Movies, you will have read their docs or ask on their forums. Or maybe someone else around here has experience with that.

They should be created automatically but they are hidden files. Do you have explorer configured to view hidden files and folders? If you do, try performing a metadata refresh from within collection management (found under Tools>Options>MetaData Storage).

    All the best,

My problem is that I would like to switch from Kodi to Mediaportal. In Kodi, putting an Extras folder in the same folder as the movie automatically manages all the extras on the Bluray, so my library is organized in this way.
