Thanks for the plugin!
Just tested it and have some questions.

1) Is there any opportunity to delete a song or an artist from the DB? For example if I delete the file.

2) Is there any opportunity to rename an artist (once for all the songs of this artist or song by song)?

3) How can I manually add an artist and his songs, if the artist is not found in the online DB)?
For that such scheme would be better, I think:
scanning folders using mask > inserting records into plugin’s DB > scanning online DB and adding info for the records, which are already in the plugin’s DB

4) I have two songs:
Artist 1 – Title 1.*
Artist 1 & Artist 2 – Title 2.*
The second (Artist 1 & Artist 2) is not found when scanning and I have to choose Artist 1 for the song to be added. When scanning finishes I have Artist 1 with two songs (Title 1 and Title 2).
How can I add Artist 2 for the second song (Title 2) and have two artists in the left (artists’) panel:
Artist 1 (with Title 1)
and
Artist 1 & Artist 2 (with Title 2)?

5) Is it possible to make an extra feature for adding after scanning several artists for one song so that I have in the left (artists’) panel not:
Artist 1, Artist 2 (with Title 2)
but:
Artist 1 (with Title 2)
Artist 2 (with Title 2)
This might be convenient when browsing artists in such cases like:
Renaud Garcia-Fons, Jean-louis Matinier, Yves Torchinsky, Jacques Mahieux – Alborea.*

Im working on a more elegant way to handle the extensions, Id love to use the ones defined in MP but havent yet worked out how.

Do you mean a pencil-icon? I clicked twice on it, changed the artist's name in a new window and pressed "save", but that didn't help.
If I edit info, save option works.

In (3) I meant that I want to simply change the artist's name once in the left panel and thus changing all the titles of this artist:
Artist 1 - Title 1 to Artist 3 - Title 1
Artist 1 - Title 2 to Artist 3 - Title 2
Artist 1 - Title 3 to Artist 3 - Title 3

In (4) I meant that I want to choose in the right panel only one song “Artist 1 - Title 2”, which was really named before scanning online DB as “Artist 1 & Artist 2 – Title 2” and add “& Artist 2” to Artist 1. As a result I would have just one song “Artist 1 & Artist 2 – Title 2” and new artist “Artist 1 & Artist 2”

In (5) I meant that I want to have 4 different songs e.g. by pressing “copy song” and changing after that one song

It's the same for me - I can't manually change the artist name.

There is a way around it using the free program called SQLite to edit the database directly.
If anyone needs the instructions to do this, let me know and I will type them out.

BUT the plugin is STILL the main reason I use MediaPortal!

Hi guys, Sorry I forgot to add the ability to change the name.

I guess my thinking was that if you wanted to change the name, theres a good chance the bio isnt right, so you select a new artist from the list on the right and update the whole thing.

Have changed in the code, but want to get a few more things fixed before releasing this fix.

Filename was originally Zlad! - Elektronik Supersonik.mpg
Tried renaming to Zlad - Elektronik Supersonik.mpg and still crashed.

Yes, I only have one file from that artist, but I have plenty of other artists I only have one clip for as well.

I tried renaming to Zlada - Elektronik Supersonik.mpg and it came up with no matches for the artist so I could only enter something for it to search again. When I entered Zlad in the box and clicked search, MP config crashed.

Whatisk, I have heard back from Last.FM, and they say....

You're correct, and it's the artist's name that is causing it. Not all of the unicode character set is compatible with XML - there are some characters which are valid unicode but are reserved in XML. Those characters are not actually displayable. This is a problem on our end that we need to look into to fix, but it's a large one.

EDIT: I have fixed the Zlad issue, figured it would be faster than waiting for last.fm, fix will be included in next release. Hopefully due tomorrow-ish

Have updated first page with details of the new version.

The sort is the 2nd biggest improvement this verison. SMS style typing to search for artists. See how it works for you, interested in feedback

PLEASE change skin file when installing this version as it has changed. StreamedMP skin is in archive, B3 skins attached to first post.

Biggest addition is manual importing. To use: goto screen where all artists/videos listed, click manual import.

Select all the files you want to manually import by click Load File(s)

Ctrl-Click (or click) the files you want assigned to a particular artist..

Either search for this artist in top-right box, or type details for artist in bottom-right box. Clicking save batch will add artist (if not already present) or update artist if present, and add the songs to that artist, and remove those files from the list. (for adding the same file to a 2nd artist, load that file twice into box on left)

Repeat till your done, then click close. Video name will be whatever the file was. To change, double click on video name in main screen and change there.

Suggestions / ideas to ponder for future releases

In parsing test window files with "ERROR" should be a different colour

In parsing test window, if you rename a file it should immediately reparse that file (Currently you have to click refresh)

Readme.txt file, this should also include instruction to copy ffmpeg.exe to the appropriate folder, or perhaps instructions on where to get ffmpeg.exe if the user doesn't have a copy already.

Possible option to rename the music video files to match what has been selected in artists awaiting approval/database? (This may have problem as some artists in last.fm are named "aritst1/artist2" which is invalid character for file name)

PS: The back end looks really good and definitely an improvement over mvids. Unfortunately I have problem where music video doesn't play full screen when i press enter on it.
