Trevor,

I did some playing around and it seems to crash when it starts to try and download thumbs. I tried to update the database using just one file in the watch folder and it crashes when it starts to download the thumb no matter what file I use.

Some of the file's I used were;

AC DC - Back In Black
Audioslave - Cochise
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe

Can't remember the rest. Hope that helps.

Brett

    Hi Trevor,

Fixed it for me too - Thanks :D

On a separate note for anyone - how do the lookups work?

I have a folder\music video setup called the following:

    Chase & status\Chase & Status - Let it go

When I try and do a scan, it lists a loads of artists with the same/similar name, but not the one I want (so the parsing is right, but the lookup is not how I expect)

The exact artist name match returns this incorrect biography:

    1) This page is currently being shared by the jpop group featuring Saaya Irie, and the person in the default picture. The jpop group is the artist of the song "CHASE ME!"

    2) Bill Chase was a virtuostic trumpet player who played in the Buddy Rich Big Band and later led his own jazz-rock group "Chase". He and most of his band were tragically killed in a plane crash.

    3) Chase was also a Christian Metal group that put out a CD called "In Pursuit" about 1993/1994 on the label "SALT Inc Music." This Chase was made up of Scott Lowmaster (Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals), Virgil Burdic (Lead Guitar and Vocals), Ron Chase (Bass Guitar) and Jay Corey (Drums).

    4) Eurodance act produced by Tony Verde and Sandro Murru. There were two different female vocalists for Chase. Cindy Wyffels replaced the first one in 1996. Produced eurodance hits such as Love for the Future and Music Is My Life

    5) Chase is also a solo project of Chase Williams, North Idahoan guitarist.

    6) Chase is also the stage name of Michael di Martino, a YouTube personality who performs stylised sign-language versions of current pop songs for the deaf community. Based in New York City, di Martino works as a sign language interpreter and has begun recording as a side project.

    7) CHASE is also a very unknown band that only EP'S are currently available of

If I go onto Last.FM and do a search for "Chase & Status" it finds the correct artist/group and the right biography/picture.

    Thanks,

    J.

ps - One minor thing I have noticed, the progress bar when doing an import doesn't seem to reach the end (100% point), but everything is imported (so it appears)

Ok, try this version - the error was with a lookup on the Music Brain ID, this failed but was not trapped.

I have amended this to trap the error and fall back to the artist name, it works for me but I really need to look at what is going on as this may not be the best fix and this also assumes the most upto date source is on the google site.

Please let me know if any issues and Metalla_NZ if you want to know what did PM me and will send you the update code.

uppack the attached zip and copy the Music Videos.dll to you're ..\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows folder.

    thx

Trevor, thanks it is working for the most part. As one already said that when it hits 100% it stops, by clicking on close and then checking the db its all there. At first it crashed on me as well, however I created a new directory and started putting just a few directories in there as its working. The parsing still ignoring the request. If I write %albumn%\%title% - %artist%.%ext% and my directories are formatted that way, it'll ignore it it still wants to use the %artist% - %title%.%ext%. This is just an example. Thank you very much for working this out for us. Really appreciate it.:D:D:D

Can't reproduce this, can you post the MediaPortal, error and musicvids log files please.

Also as dangerzone asked are you sure the you have ffmpeg location correctly configured?

    Thx

    Hi,

I have been looking at this plugin today and there a few issues, as some of you have pointed out and most of these should be easy enough to solve.

I have mailed Metalla_NZ saying I would like to start looking at these and see if he is ok with me doing that, don't really want to dive in if he has plans for it.

Would also like to do it correctly which will mean full access to the source and creating installers etc.

    Thx
