ptg###.dll (i forget the exact name) ????? I don't see any file in mvid's section or something simular. I only got ffmpeg.exe so can you or someone else give me the right name of the this file i need? preferable to attach to your message or send it to me. As i can guess it isn't easy to find this file .

:D Niels

if the file is needed you will get an error saying P#######.dll is missing, if not don't worry

THX , i'll try and will see if i get an error or not:)

Hi all - I am new here so please bear with me.

First off - huge thank you to Trevor for his fix. It took me a while to find this thread but I thought I was going to go crazy trying to get this plug in to work!

Probably of no interest to anyone but I noticed a couple of things so I thought I would mention them here.

Before applying Trevor's fix I installed the [most very excellent] Streamed MP v1.2.1 skin. I went through some basic config choices and hit ok. This blue screened my [freshly built] PC. However - after re-boot, all seems fine now and I love it!

I then replaced the original my music videos dll with Trevor's fix. When I then went into configure the plug in, whenever I went to parse - MP crashed out. The first time it blue screened my machine again but on subsequent attempts only MP crashed out.

Took me a while to work out why this was happenning - because this part WAS working before Trevor's fix. Before, it was only when trying to scan into db that MP crashed.

Anyway - when I followed original 'My music videos' instructions, it said "Place FFMpeg.exe somewhere, and point to it in the settings window". I took this to mean I could put it anywhere so long as, when I did config, i pointed to same location. Since I don't like leaving .exe files at the root of C: I put it in the plug ins folder and pointed to it there.

This is what was crashing MP when attempting parsing after Trevor's fix. I put FFMpeg.exe at root of C: and then everything worked fine. Does your fix Trevor, then, require that FFMpeg.exe MUST be at root of C:? I, personally, would rather it was not but am, more than anything, just happy to have got it working.

On an aside - the plug in itself? Perhaps I misunderstood it's scope. I have a very [very] large collection of Music concerts DVDs. I thought that, much like the 'moving pictures' plug in, this plug in would dowload cover art & info [track listing maybe] relating to the concert. Obviously, this is not the case. Would be great though if a future release could do that I tthink.

    Thanks, denis

Something does not sound quiet right with your OS insall here, can we have some system details please, OS version etc, UAC settings if Vista of above and copies of ant logs produced..I copy of your mediaportal.log would be good.

The patch never touched that part the deals with ffmpeg (was a really minor change just trapping an error) and I have my copy of FFMpeg within it's own folder under my main HTPC dir (my folder layout being D:\HTPC as top level then application folders underneath FFMpeg, MediaPortal, For The Record etc) and this works without issues.

The plugin does not deal with Music DVD's at present, well not in the way you want - it identifiys the artist and looks up artist info from last.fm.

    thx

    Hi Trevor,

Thanks for such a speedy reply. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate.

I'll post the mediaportal.log when I get home. I'll also put FFMpeg back where it was just to see what happens.

I guess, as you say, the issues I experienced could be unrelated.

Anyway - thank you very much indeed for the fix. I'm so glad to have it working at last.

I'm getting some double print in the top bar (see Attached, looks like "Header Videos" overlaid by "Music ???"), is anyone else getting this? or know what's causing it?

Im having trouble playing any videos that are in .mp4 format, I get sound but no picture.

The files play fine in any other media player.

They scan fine appear in my list fine and all have thumbnails present.

All other file types play OK .avi .mkv etc.

Anyone else have this problem or know why it might be happening?

The .mp4 files in question are ripped from Youtube using the latest version of 'Easy Youtube Video Downloader' ver 3.5

Shangostar - codec issue, so not related to this plugin... For a quick fix you can try renaming .mp4 -> .mkv it may force a different dshow filter to be used. PS - I also use Easy YouTube Video Downloader, and have no problems playing .mp4 in MediaPortal / My Music Videos

Ok Kiwi thanks, will check it out, for some reason codec didn't even cross my mind.

Guess because they play fine outside of MP. And possibly because it was right after a 12 hour night shift I was trying to play them :)

Does SAF not contain anything for .mp4 then?
