    CVS 12-30-2005--01-06

As soon as a radio station (a DVB-T radio station) is selected to play, navigation using the keyboard ceases to function. Other radio stations can be selected by clicking on their icon with the mouse, but cannot be selected by the keyboard arrow keys. The only way to exit MP is to press ALT F4.

    Steps to reproduce:-

    1. launch MediaPortal and navigate to My Radio
    2. notice that while there is no radio playing, it is possible to navigate around My Radio as normal.
    3. select a radio station (DVB-T) to play
    4. all navigation using the keyboard ceases - the only way to exit MP is to press ALT F4.

This problem occurs with both the BlueTwo and MCE skins, and did not occur with RC1 CVS 12-13-2005--23-02.

The MediaPortal.log file does not show anything odd - except that once the radio is playing, keyboard presses are no longer registered in the log. This suggests to me that when the radio is active, the keyboard is ignored.

I have just added the latest CVS (01-08-2006--01-05) and verified that this problem still exists. I tested it with both the BlueTwo and MCE skins.

However, I have noticed that MediaPortal does actually still respond to the keyboard, it is just that the skin doesn't display the changes that are occurring. The skin shows the navigation changes (highlighting icons and buttons) correctly BEFORE a station is selected to play. But once a station is selected, the screen no longer displays navigation changes - it is as if the skin itself has "frozen".

For example (with big icons displayed), if I press "right arrow" and then "enter", the next station along will be played, but the highlighting around the previous station's icon stays as it was - however, the highlighting should move to the now playing station's icon.

Also, the time and station icon that used to appear in the bottom left of the screen don't appear.

I can do other "blind" navigation around the My Radio screen, but the items in the screen don't change status to indicate where I am, and pressing "esc" does take me back to the home screen, but the My Radio screen stays as the one displayed...:(

So, it looks like the problem is within the skin/skin engin?

(There doesn't appear to be anything in the MediaPortal.log file to indicate what is wrong, but I can post the .log if it is required?)

For me with my PVR 350 absolutely the same problem, absolutely same symptoms.
I tried different CVS versions, different Hauppauge drivers, different codecs - always the same behavior as described by Taipan.

I've got the same problem. I tried different CVS versions, different Hauppauge drivers, different codecs (like Jens).

But I can "solve" the situation like this:
    - go from FULLSCREEN mode to WINDOW mode by typing ALT/ENTER and then back to FULLSCREEN mode (when playing radio) by typing again ALT/ENTER. Then all work fine. But this is not realy a good solution¨;)

I saw an entry in today's MediaPortal Log that said that "My Radio was fixed again". So I tried CVS 01-17-2006--01-07 in the hope that it was this problem that was fixed. Unfortunately, it wasn't this problem that the entry referred to - however, I did verify rougli's "workaround" - pressing ALT+ENTER twice when a radio channel is playing restores the skin's full functionality....:)

"rougli" has suggested that this problem may only occur with certain video cards due to their incomplete implementation of DirectX 9 .....

I hope that is not the case, since it could mean that although my ATI Radeon 9550 is supposed to be fully DirectX 9 compatible, I might have to fork out for a new video card....

So, I would be interested to hear from any other users who are experiencing this problem, as to what video card they are using?

    CVS 17.01.

I can confirm this, My Radio is not working with the Nova-S+ and with the Twinhan DTV DVB-S.
Leaving My Radio is only possible via closing down MP.

uk_angel has discovered that if you unselect the "Load ID3 tags from file if it's not in music database" in the My Music configuration, then the My Radio GUI works fine......

I have just confirmed that this fixes the problem of the My Radio GUI locking up.

I have no idea why there is a connection between the ID3 tag selection in My Music and the functioning of My Radio GUI, but it is very easily reproduced and should be logged as a bug......please..:)

    The steps to reproduce are:
    1. open MP configuration and go to My Music
    2. check the box "Load ID3 tags from file if it's not in music database"
    3. exit MP configuration and launch MediaPortal
    4. go to My Radio and select a station to play
    5. the GUI is now "locked" - it is possible to navigate around, but none of the images will change to confirm your navigation.
    6. press ALT+F4 to exit MP
    7. go into MP configuration and remove the check against "Load ID3 tags from file if it's not in music database"
    8. start MediaPortal again, go to My Radio, select a station and the GUI works fine....

    Now, isn't that weird?

    :D to uk_angel for discovering this one....:D
