We always try to convice the possible new adepts.At this point I'm going to say thank you for your help but I might just stick with Windows Media Centre as it's too difficult to install this product.
The MySQL Installation normally works correctly. In case you would like to give it a last go you should
- Uninstall MediaPortal
- Uninstall MySQL using the Windows functionality
- Delete any remaining directory traces on your harddisk that relate to MySQL
- Run a tool such CCleaner to remove obsolete registry entries
- (Last not least, but that may be some work, search the registry manually and delete ever hit of MySQL)
Then try a last time...
