Annoying PIN questioning in "share view" after play is old design flaw or it was not so easy to do that properly before.

I will investigate that and will open new bug topic if I find easy solution.

    Hi Deda,

Just to be clear and to make sure I understand you correctly, I'm talking about DB views prompting for a PIN when you try to play a movie that's been unlocked.

Is this caused by the same design flaw?

    Cheers,

    Mick.

No, it should not ask for play, just to ask, is that Image file you try to play or pure video or DVD folder?

    Hi Deda,

Just trying something else ATM and will need to rebuild before I can check but I thought I tried both DVD folders and image files (ISO).

    Cheers,

    Mick.

OK, try this one with Images and folders please (it's without config part).

    Hi Deda,

Sorry for the delay (other work got in the way :)).

Tested both folder and ISO playback with patch v37 and it's working mate.

Unlocked content now plays without prompting for a PIN first.

    Thanks for this.

    All the best,

    Mick.

    Nice one :) :D

Are you going to put the pin protection back in or leave that for a rework in 1.3?

    All the best,

    Mick.

Don't know for Configuration part. It is certainly connected to PIN patch as missing security feature, but also is somehow new feature and needs to be documented in Wiki. I will ask dev managers if it could go for 1.2.0.

Yeah, I meant the configuration part. :sorry:

Thanks for managing to understand what I was talking about :D

    Hi Deda,

Just noticed something very very minor (but thought I'd mention it anyway :D). I suspect it's a side effect of the new pin protection rather than the protection itself.

If you configure your system so that you have no unprotected content i.e. all folders have pins, when you enter "videos" you see a single empty DVD cover icon and although it says "No Results Found" top left it says 1/1 Video/Titles top right (see attached).

Like I said, it's a very minor thing but I might be nice if you didn't see any cover icons at all and top right said 0/0.

I don't think this is a skin issue. Is it something that can be done within the code you're working on?

    All the best,

    Mick.

Switch to list layout and you will see why is 1/1 :), It's like that without this patch when videodatabase is empty.

OK fair enough mate. Never had an empty DB before :D

    No worries.

    Cheers,

    Mick.
