Maybe this is not the right place, but i give it a try anyway...

I use a gamepad to navigate in mediaportal. And i want to use the default skin.
MyLyrics is such a great plugin, i wish i could enter it more easaly.

Therfore i use shortcuter.

Now i want to set a keyboard key to my gamepad. But i don't know how. I can put almost every action to about any button on the gamepad. But i haven't found a way to link a keyboard key...

I found a function called "keypressed" in the directinput setting, when mapping actions to the gamepad. Next i can input 2 textboxes. But i can't find anywhere how to use this textboxes...

I managed to get a shortcut to MyLyrics under key "1" on the keyboard. Now i only have to map that key to my gamepad...

Can any of you help me with this?

Exuse me for being such offtopic in this Lyrics board...

google autohotkey
edit default script to add #installkeybdhook
run default script
double click on taskbar icon
click view -> key history and script info
press the gamepad key lots of times
press F5 to refresh the info screen
see if autohotkey recognises the gamepad
if so you can program a script to map gamepad key press to '1' or any other key combo eg CTRL+ALT+1 etc..

:D

Helps great!!!

added "Joy9:: Send 1" tot the script and it works!

Hi,

i don't know if this is the correct place to post this, but i couldn't find another relevant thread.
So, if this is in the wrong place, :sorry:

I've got a problem. I've just installed the plugin. Now i want to scan my files. So i started the MP-Config and selected your plugin. Under the "Music database batch search" i clicked on "Start". Then it starts scanning and after aprox. 2 minutes the plugin crashes with the default windows crash message. After clicking on close app the plugin including MP-Config is closing.

I Know this info is very vague. So is there a log file i could check and post it here? I've determined that the search always crashes on the same file. I already tried to take this file out of the search path, but then the search crashes on another file. Could it be, that the search crashes because of some wrong tag formats of some files?
There are some very old mp3 in the search directory. Perhaps on that time the tag info was not available...

Thx for any help!!
Chris

    Hi Chris,

Actually I thought that the MP tag reader caught all possible exceptions and just returned a false if a read/write was unsuccesful. But I might be wrong. Glad you found a file that causes the error. If you upload it in a message as an attachment, or upload it somewhere else and send me the link, I will have a look in debug mode.

    Hi mackey,

thx for your fast reply. I think it's not legal to post the link of that file on that site. So i'm going to write you the link as private message now...

    Hi Mackey,

here there are the requested screenshots.
I'm using an administrator account having all possible permissions.
Can't imagine it's because Windows Server 2008. Almost everything else runs fine. Have a lot of plugins activated runing very well. I guess it's a little unexpected bug in MyLyrics. If it's not because of the file i've sent you, perhaps it's because of my folder structure. Is there a max subfolder length?

    Thx for your assistance,:D

You are most likely right about that WS2008 has nothing to do with the crash, especially if you are running as an admin.

From the screenshot I see that it isn't the song "Long R'n'b mix" by "AV8" that causes the crash but most likely one of the next 8 songs in the list. Without any proper logs you have no real oppurtunity to determined if it is a troubled file that causes the problem and in that case, which. As you might have read elsewhere I removed the log for the batch run in the latest version because there haven't been problems for ages and the logs were not needed. Pretty ironic :)

Well, I'll include a log mechanism once again and open an option the configuration to enable it. That log will be included in the next version which will be released not so long from now. It is not certain that the log will tell the exact reason for the error to happen, but it will certainly narrow down the field of files that potentially is the reason for the crash.

I'm not aware of any limits on the number of subfolder or max length. MyLyrics relies on MP subsystems, such as the tagreader, which handles the music file and directory access. If they throws an exception in an unexpected manner, then MyLyrics and MP will crash. It might be one of this tools that crashes, otherwise it is MyLyrics. I still believe that the crash is caused by an MP exception, but I could be proving wrong. ;) Let's see.

    Thanks for your reports.

The thread has been updated with release notes for version 1.31. New is support for Last.fm and ShoutCasts and the logging system has been reintroduced.

    Hi Mackey,

i've just updated to the newest version and started a batch search. Of course before starting the search i've checked the log-setting. The search crashed like before and i wanted to watch the log file. Sorry for that stupid question, but i can't find any log file? Can you tell me the name of the file?

    Thx,
    Chris

Sorry, i've just found the log files ;)!

OK, now i've tried out some things leading me to this question:
Are you searching the files in the folder of the "Music/Music Folders" setting in MP, or are you takeing the information from the MP-Music-DB when i press the search button?

The latter. I simple get an instance of the MP-Music-DB and uses this collection thoughout to determine which files to search and which that already is in either the lyrics or marked database.

Can i assume that the last file worked on in the log is that one causing the crash?
