    Hi,

Here is a new release of the plugin MyMenu.

    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/other/mymenu

1/ With this new version you can choose the keyboard key to pop-up the menu.
2/ And now you can show the menu with the remote within MediaPortal.

    How to :
    1/ Config the keyboard key
In the main screen of the configuration of the plugin there is a new button :

When you click on it, the plugin waits you press any key on your keyboard (for example ctrl+l)
If the plugin recognise your key, a dialog informs you that the key is recorded.

The code of the key is displayed in the window (for ctrl+l, the code is 12)

The following keys cannot be recorded :
special keys (F1...F9, alt+, ctrl + numbers, and may be some others...)

2/ Use it with MP remote

You have to choose a remote button and select as action "key press" then use the key code displayed in the configuration of the menu.

Thanks to 2.0 for having discovered this method.

This version is compatible with MP1.5 and MP1.6 pre.

All contributors are welcome. But if you want to publish a public release, I would like to be involved in this project. You will be able to commit modification in the master repository of the plugin (PM me and I will give you access to the project). The goal is to keep a central repository of contributions without loosing any good ideas and improvements.

    Re: New Plugin : MyMenu

I'm looking for a way to use the MENU button on my remote for more than just the DVD menu. I'm especially interested in revealing the standard MP hidden menu (or facsimile) without having to use the navigation buttons. I do not use Event Ghost, and would rather not at this time.

So my question is. Does this plugin utilize the remote's MENU button?

    :D for any info.

you call the menu with your keyboard with the combination ctrl + l. A default menu is provided with the installation. You can custom your menu in the file myMenu.xml in your config directory.

Thanks for info, it works now. Perhaps i `ll find a way now to change ffdshow audio settings to switch for example the output...

You said the plugin should be used to start commands etc for other software like eventghost, perhaps also webbrowser etc...

Could i also open a internal medipoartal menu? (like the new eventghost plugin or perhaps some homeautomation plugins or...)

    Re: New Plugin : MyMenu

For the moment it is not possible, but it could be an enhancement of the plugin.

Do not hesitate to make suggestions, i'll try to implement it in future releases.
