Yes but Apple trailers in XBMC (other media center software) are working great with K-lite, so maybe You can manage to make it working with Mediaportal too
I'll be reading the thread later meanwhile could You post which of K-lite codecs shouldn't be installed??

Please read all my previous posts on this issue in this thread. I had exactly the same problem. I ended up uninstalling K-lite codec pack and installing Vista Codec pack. This worked perfectly. Please note Vista codec pack works in XP.

XBMC isn't using Klite because it has internal codecs (ffmpeg project if i'm correct) and isn't depending on directshow.

Just created a new subforum for this nice Plugin.

I can't get this plugin working :/
I have K-lite full codec pack (also Matroska spliter). When I instal Haali M S it also dosen't work :/
Why??

Guess you did not see the notes we placed everywhere, that noone should ever install anything which calls itselfe "codec pack".
At the end of the day you have a totally screwed system, which filters installed you dont need, and all your merit settings messed up.

Install the codecs you need, nothing else. Then things tend to work.

Just tested your latest version against current svn of MediaPortal.
When i enter "Trailers" it is empty.



I have attached all logs from that testrun.
The error.log contains some exceptions thrown by the Trailers plugin.

Maybe you can take a look.

The less codecs the better, so i agree with infinityloop.

Now this is where i get hate mail .

Vista codec pack (works with xp as previously stated) has been on my work day machine for the last couple of years and never had a issue, shark007 who maintains it does a great job of sorting out registry entries and merit priorities, so there is no codec hell when this is installed.
This is the only codec pack where everything works (not mpeg2 need a seperate codec, nore hardware acceleration) both in windows applications and Mediaportal and is totally legal.

There are only 5 components supplied. latest FFDShow, AC3, haali media splitter, Vobsub and Xvid, do not consider this overkill when you compare it to some other codec packs, but as i said, it not so much the filters\codecs themselves, its the way Windows recognises them natively that's the trick

Now back to that mug of tea.

Use the correct skin The skin in your screenshot is the default remainder of the old mytrailers plugin that exists in the mediaportal skin directory.

Look at first post and pick the package for the skin you are using and overwrite the old one. The default skin included is BlueTwo Wide.

i thought that the skins from the list were allready included in the download.

Works now.
