Quicktime won't help you play .mov in MediaPortal - You'll need a directshow filter solution. Sorry if the whole GraphEdit/GraphStudio thing is unclear to you but it has issues on his own like you experience. There's just so much variables in play that i really want to write a proper guide for all you innocent people out there (and i just barely touched the surface my self) :p

here are a couple of general codec topics that might be helpfull:

    Hey armand,

I've been streaming happily now for sometime, can't tell you enough, thanks for creating this plugin.

I've got one thing that's kinda bothering me and I don't really know why it's happening or if any of you guys have this too.
When I stream (mostly HD) movies, especially from gametrailers I sometimes have these distorted images. To me it seems like the complete frame isn't loaded yet and what happens then is that the last complete frame is mixed in with the new frame. As soon as things start moving across the screen it get's updated.
It's kinda hard to explain right, so I'll take a screenshot to make things clearer.

I know this is more a codec issue but was wondering if you guys have this too and if so, if there's some fix for this?

    edit:
Just took a screenshot. This makes it a little clearer what I mean.

    p.s.
It seems that pausing playback for a while (as a way of buffering) doesn't really help but I should test this more (not really done yet)

    Hello,
i use RC3 with xface and i can't see the trailers in fullscreenmode.
    In windowed mode, everything's fine.

    Have you an idea?

    Greetings dd129

I do have the same sometimes, it only happens with WMV.. artifacts in the source or because of the streaming i don't know for sure . the trailers on Gametrailers can also be watched in .mov format so if apple trailers is working i can create an option to stream gametrailers in mov also (hoping for better quality)

Can you supply me with a mediaportal.log of when you are trying to view the trailers in fullscreen?

Well I would appreciate that! Mov is working perfectly fine, that is apple trailers streams perfect for me.

Besides this would it maybe be possible to have the quality selection popup (HD/SD etc) to be organized in an alpabetical manner? It's kinda annoying when HD and SD switch places all the time. Just a suggestion.

Hooray!!!! Got it working, someone mentioned the medialooks directshow filter. It's freeware, so I see a little medialooks ad in the upperleft corner, but that's okay. Should the movie trailers be 5.1? I only get 2.0, but that's okay too :)

I'm really happy with this plugin, so thanx a million Armand!

With a 1080p set, the watermark isn't bothersome. It's strange though, I had quicktime alternative, which SAID it had a directshow filter, but this didn't work. Medialooks works fine, I also saw a plugin from Riverpast (QuickTime DirectShow Filter Download). Also a free plugin, but I'll stick to this one for now. If it ain't broke ...

    ...

    I broke it, already :)
The riverpast plugin is for wmp only, so this doesn't work. Don't try it! Uninstalled it, installed medialooks again. No picture ... I'm such a dumbass.

Hi Folks I found a fix for anyone using a codec pack and don't want to go to the bother of uninstalling their pack and nero codecs etcetcetc, found tis on another reply about some guys getting their onlinevideos plugin to play apple trailers............. while it didn't work for me it inadvertently fixed my problem of getting this plugin to play apple trailers ....whew
Anyhoo I got the medialooks quicktime plugin to allow directshow filters to be able apple to play quicktime files, the catch is that for those using quicktime alternative or quiktime lite you will have to uninstall them and get the latest quicktime player from apple , install that and then install the medialooks quicktime plugin , which is shareware and puts a watermark up in the top right hand corner of the vid but you can live with it if you pick a large trailer

Hope this helps with anyones [roblem , its just nice to contribute a little to everyone elses huge input into this community, stay safe and keep'er country

p.s I think this has to be the most times I've ever typed quicktime in my life :)
