folks same prob here.
If this is a so well known bug it really should be mentioned in the "feature list" so that people can decide whether
MP is of any use for the or not - I for my part planned to use MP on my notebook for watching / recording TV while working on my notebook - so in this case MP ist completely useless to me and 6 hours of getting my card to work could have been spent better.... otherwise creat program I have to say...

This is an open source project and totally free which makes a small bug like this acceptable. I understand that it might be frustrating for you, but as the previous post indicated there is a work-around. If you are planning on staying with MediaPortal, just a friendly recommendation for you to keep your words pleasant...the developers and community don’t appreciate statements like yours above.

As I said, MP is in fact a great program and I really do appreciate the work of open source developers ( I use quite a lot of open source programs and even do some beta testing).
But a "bug" in a multi media apllication for TV/DVD etc. that results in not beeing able to support resizing/ switching to full screen mode while video is running, is really worth mentioning somewhere easy to find (FAQ, feature site etc...). So I really would not consider it a "small bug".
You could compare it with Open Office not beeing able to change font type and size without restarting - would be pretty anoying, wouldnt it?
I fiddled around with so many settings thinking it has to be my fault and then another hour or so until I finally found this explanation, that really was diappointing.
I have to admitt that the words "completly usless" were in fact a bit harsh. But otherwise I still stick to my point.
So please take this as crticism and keep on working...as I said before good program.

I also forgot to tell you that this is a bug that only appears on some systems, I think it is related to your graphics card and how it handles DirectX. I say this because I personally have no problem resizing while TV or video is playing on my main HTPC, but on my second system and laptop I do have the same problem as you....hopefully MP-II will sort this out...

DO you use TV2 or TV3-server?
First try a different codec, and see if it helps...
Secondly, you MUST also attach a complete hardwarespecification.....follow the link below for instructions.
