Should I implement an automatic file organizer to move and rename files?

    Hi

have you any thoughts about OSD in this plugin.
Because right now its showing nothing. Even when you have the episode in the nativ mp moviedatabase, OSD shows up empty.
    Garion.

No Worries. The OSD will be populated sooner or later. This is still a prototype. So i'm too worried about that right now until it becomes a beta version.

I just thought of a really good idea. Instead of wasting time trying to find episode images on the net, Why not take a random screenshot within the video file itself. Its garanteed to work, and it significantly reduces administrative overhead of the user.

Now how the hell do you take a screenshot of a video file..... hmmm

    What you do think?

One other thing i have in mind.
The management seams to be in the mediaplayer setup programm.
If it stays there. you might give it a look so it fits in some unusal resolutions like 720x480. i couldn't use the plugin setup in that resolution.

I think good idea for those eps that you dont find an image online for, reason being that a random screenshot is probably not really represantative of the episode in question, whereas an online image usually is.

Frodo implemented this recently in a CVS for recorded tv I think, I haven't got a new CVS though so I haven't been able to take a look. This is from the changelog:

On 31/01/2006 [17:30:48] _Frodo added the following change: auto-creation of thumbnails for recordings when entering mytv->recordedtv

I also think it's okay to take a screenshot from that file, as there aren't any images anywhere else (ie TV.com) that directly relate to an episode.

one other thing i've noticed - could you make your plugin check for all files with extensions setup under the main setup-movies-movie extensions? i've got a couple of badly ripped files in mp4 format that an 'import' won't detect!
