MyTVSeries - Plugin that organizes TV Video Files (2 Viewers)

Should I implement an automatic file organizer to move and rename files?

Oh, thanks for mentioning it. This thread is rather long so I must have missed it. Sorry for that.

    Another feature request:

Customise the date format for when the episode aired. Would like to have the UK format dd/mm/yyyy instead of the American mm/dd/yyyy.

    Bug:

The series description does not correctly parse a into a hyphen e.g. the Scrubs description :
    http://www.tv.com/scrubs/show/3613/summary.html&full_summary=1

    Edit :Bug:

When running an import from the GUI and the plugin cannot determine the series name then a window pops up saying "Press OK to manually enter the series name, or press Cancel to skip to the next video". This window only has an OK button on it and also freezes so this button cannot be pressed.

First of all i would like to thank you for developing such an excellent plugin.

The import seems to be working very well. although i am having problems with trying to import my episodes of doctor who.

There are two problems with this series:
    1. TV.com lists the episodes by season/episode number, whereas most episode guides list by story number (each story is split into a number of episodes). I imported the first few series by episode titles, but unfortunately in later later series the episodes do not have individual titles.

    2. TV.com's titles are very inconsistent, using 3 different forms of episode title, e.g. "Spearhead From Space, Episode 1", "Day of the Daleks, Episode One" and "The Leisure Hive, Part One".

The easiest way I can think of to solve problems like this is to provide a list of files (either by selecting a block of files and keeping them in alphabetical order, or from a text file) and then being able to import the season as a block, ignoring the filenames, and just assigning the episodes consecutively.

Alternatively it might be good to have a "reverse import" feature such that rather than looking at each file and assinging an episode in the database you could give it a folder and for each episode it looks for a file with the closest name.

To solve the second problem (tv.com being inconsistent) maybe a search and replace function for the tv.com results could be good.

Oh, and one other feature request: It would be quite nice to be able to have the epsiode numbers displayed like 1x01 rather than 1x1, as that is what I am used to seeing. However this is a low priority request.

Keep up the good work, I'd hate to see this plugin die an early death.

Some of those controls - like using an image as a button, and the grid along the top as a list - aren't yet available in Media Portal, so the decision was to get the plugin working with the currently available controls, then work adding these skin features afterwards.

    All in good time :D

    Hi

I asked before, but i couldn't find an answer to the question.

Has anybody else a problem with MYVIDEO resumeing movies, after they are added to myseries database.

To point it out again. The normal MYVIDEO won't remember the point where the movie was stoped. That happens to all series added to myseries.

Is there a mixup with the databases? Because of what i read here, myvideo stores the stoppoint for resume in the moviedatabase of mp.
But myseries uses its own database, so i cant realy understand that behavior.

Again i DON'T mean resume inside of myseries i know that is still in development, i mean resume in the standard myvideo.

    greets garion

    Import not working

    Hi,

I'm new to Mediaportal (RC3) and MyTVSeries(0.32a) (just switched from Meedio). Anyhow, I want to import my TV-shows. They are stored like this:

    SeriesName\Season X\SeriesName - s<SeasonNumber>e<EpisodeNumber> - >title/garbage text>.<extension>

using the default reg.expression and pressing test I get the correct info, e.g.:
    the file: 24 - s05e07 - Unknown.avi is displayed as Series 24, Season 5, Episode 7 etc.

However, pressing start only results in a pop-up complaining about the importer not being able to find the correct seriesname, allowing me to type in a new one (the correct one is suggested though).

    the log shows e.g.
    Code:
    ---
TV.com did not return any matches for the parsed series name. Skipping file as per options.
Seaching TV.com for matches on parsed series name.
Parsed Information: Battlestar Galactica - 2x7 - Home Part 2
    Regular Expression: '(?<series>[^$]*) - (s|season |)(?<season>[0-9]{1,2})( |)(x|e|ep)(?<episode>[0-9]{1,2})(( |)(-( |)|))(?<title>[^$]*)
    Processing File: c:\media\tv-seriar\battlestar galactica\season 02\battlestar galactica - s02e07 - home part 2.avi
    ---

This happens for ALL my series/files.
    What am I doing wrong?

    regards
    oleKanin

Tried it since today but by reading this topic and watching screenshots from previous posts it looks awesome :D
