    Version 2 is available

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/808006-post2.html

There are quite many changes included (many are probably missing from the fixes section). Please test and report when something has been fixed when compared to version 1. Check against your reported issues vs. Blu-ray_compatibility_list , no need to report the issues that I have listed to be open.

Also any new BD that the Santa did bring are welcome to be tested :)

Is there a way to test this without having to download the whole installer?

Unfortunately no since there are multiple changed components:

    • It would be just too error prone to let testers to do the changes them selves -
    • Installer as well requires testing
    • It would be extra work to provide multiple changed binaries on every test release (and risky as well)

Little update after testing with the new installer:

    Rambo (2008): now works OK
Underworld - Rise of the lycans: now works OK

Burn after reading: Menu works now, but I have audio issues. I can't hear audio in the menu or when I play the movie via Menu. If play the movie in Title-mode, video and audio work OK. It seems to select a different video and audio decoder for Menu mode and Title Mode.

When in Menu-mode and I select Shift+1, it's using LAV video Decoder, MPC -MPA Decoder Filter. No sound.

When in Title-mode and I select Shift+1, it's using Cyberlink Video Decoder, Cyberlink Audio Decoder. All is good.

Video is VC-1, so I guess it shouldn't be using LAV video decoder, but Cyberlink Video Decoder. I have selected the Cyberlink Video Decoder in Mediaportal Configuration. I might have some issues with decoder merits, but I don't know how to solve it.

Dejavu: Works the same as with the earlier installer. I can select language and then I goes back to Mediaportal menu.

Bangkok Dangerous: Works the same as with the earlier installer. If I try to skip the opening trailers with Chapter skip-button, mediaportal won't respond to any keys after that. If I skip the trailers with menu-button, everything works OK. This really isn't a problem for me at least, since I always want to go to the menu as quickly as possible.

Thanks to mr. tourettes for his hard work! This is good progress!

Many BDs are mixed up when it comes to video content. They can contain VC-1, MPEG2 & H264 in the same disk. Currently the config setting is not 100% obeyed and filter is in some cases overriding it if it sees the codec being able to support the new video format.

It is recommended to set same video decoder for all video formats (there is no plans to make the 100% obeyed video decoder selection on graph rebuilding). The target is to have zero graph rebuilds when video format change and of course this means that there will be no possibility to have separate video decoders in such case. Next test version should have dynamic video format change support enabled and with that every one is most likely going to want to have the same video decoder for all three video formats (after all when video decoder is designed to be used for BD content it will support all the used formats).

In the long run there are two possibilities how the video decoders are handled:

    1) only one selectable video decoder
    2) 100% obeyed video decoder selection - with a huge warning note that it will reduce the user experience when user configures multiple video decoders to be used

Audio might be some issue with the LAV audio decoder - I'll have to try to debug that issue a bit. I didn't have audio either in that BD in menu.

Dejavu: Works the same as with the earlier installer. I can select language and then I goes back to Mediaportal menu.

This is probably a lib issue. Do you get following error in the log with the full BD disk?

    30-12-2011 18:07:09.877 [ c60]Read failed...failure on libbluray side
    30-12-2011 18:07:09.883 [ 13d4]Read failed...failure on libbluray side

    30-12-2011 18:07:09.903 [ 13d4]Read failed...failure on libbluray side
30-12-2011 18:07:09.903 [ 13d4]Read failed too many times... EOF or broken disc?
    30-12-2011 18:07:09.903 [ 13d4]aud: set EOF

It would be nice to have a sample of this BD.

Not audio decoder's fault - works correctly if played in graphedit (using the menu's m2ts file).

Did you test with fill BD or with the cut off sample?
