New android remote control app (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

i created a new android app as remote control for MediaPortal. It is free and focuses on usability and a high WAF.

Requirements:
Mediaportal 1, version 1.6 or newer
MPExtended 0.5.4 (older versions may work, but i did not test them)
WifiRemote 0.8.3 (older versions may work, but i did not test them)

Setup:
Just download and start: Enter connection information when prompted.
Server Name: enter name or ip address of your MediaPortal Server
WifiRemote Port/MPExtended Port: the ports where the services are running
Username/Password: currently requires the same for both WifiRemote and MPExtended.

Currently supports the following MediaPortal plugins:
TV: Playing info, timeshift, lock screen widget
Guide (only useful if EPG or WebEPG is available)
Series: requires MP-TVSeries plugin
Movies: requires MovingPictures plugin
Radio
Videos, OnlineVideos: simple support only since it is not supported by MPExtended

Things planned but still missing:
Music
Pictures
Teletext - currently not supported by server
Onscreenkeyboard

There is a semiautomatic error reporter, which allows you to send error logs to me. Please use this feature if you want stuff to be fixed. This is purely a hobby project so i might not always be available to fix things right away.

thanks a lot for your App!
Working really fine here. Will there be any further development? I really miss the possibility to control Music from my phone/tablet, so I don't need the TV being switched on to choose or change music.

nice to hear you like it. I'm still developing, mostly smaller improvements so far due to limited time
I don't use MP Music much so haven't given it priority, but will look to implement something in the next weeks

Just a note to say, fantastic app!

I love how dialog boxes are rendered to the phone (i.e "Resume playback from 1:01" or "Watch from start")

I am also looking forward to items on your planned list (esp. Music control).

WAF means "Wife Acceptance Factor" or "Wife Approval Factor".
One of the most important design elements in any HTPC software...

There is no MPExtended for MP2, so there is no any remote control app. Switch to MP1 and you can use some apps on IOS or Android.

Hi.
A Web Service is a work in progress, same is for MP2Extended (only for backward compatibility, normally no longer needed) But this is not finished yet, due to not enough dev time...
Up to then you can access your PC at home via VPN or tools like TeamViewer...
