Seidelin, is the version 3 still hanging when zapping?

Don't know. I won't be home to test until late this evening (I am on a trip for the extended weekend). But I will test thoroughly in both single and multi-seat and changing channels between cards later.

    Hi tourettes

Im impressed! Excellent work! I have just done a little bit of testing and no crash/freeze so far.

I love the new "feature" that the subtitles are showing in the "preview window" in the TV-section. Before it was only showing in full screen mode. Also dvb-subtitles are showing correctly when skipping in recorded shows, which was not the case with version 2.

The timing seems to be almost perfect. Only once and awhile a subtitle is delayed and its only milliseconds of delay.

I will do some more testing later on and write my results. But great work so far!

Well, I have to join the congratulating choir. HURRAY!
Initial test with a gazillion channel changes completed without crashes, although the bug with increasing thread count after zapping between mp1 and mp2 sound channels to another card is still present.

I haven't looked carefully at the timings and other things yet, but the major point of instability against channel changes is gone. Excellent work!

I will continue further testing into the wee hours, hunting for mor^H^H^H bugs.

Oh well. I got a crash. After starting and stopping the same old .ts recording many times, sometimes resuming from last position sometimes not. On rare occasions a hang occurs when starting the recorded show.

    Logs attached.

    Single and multiseat:
Seeking across a channel change with different audio formats (mpeg1 and mpeg2 audio) results in black screen and audio stuttering like a severely scratched CD. MP doesn't hang, home+stop recovers MP. Seeking across a channel change with identical audio formats works fine.

    Logs attached.

EDIT: With plain TsReader (No dvbsub loaded) I typically cannot seek across channel changes (regardless of audio formats). However, once in a while I succeed in seeking back across the channel change. I will make a bug report in TsReader thread.
Second EDIT: Plain TsReader: Hmm, I am getting some strange behavior, which I don't quite understand - will try to investigate further tomorrow.

Could you check if this is happening also with vanilla TsReader as audio streams shouldn't affect the subtitle filter. Unfortunatel I don't have access (at least currently) to channels with mpeg1 audio, only mpeg2.

Again, could you check if this is reproducible with vanilla TsReader? On my HTPC using unmodified TsReader MP hangs randomly when starting up a .ts file playback.

When you next time suspect that there is some subtitles rendered too late could you please check if the DVBsub.log contains following log entries?

"Too old timestamp! - diff was..."

This will tell that the subtitle filter is receiving the PES packets too late (current playback position is already bigger than the subtitle presentation timestamp).

Still present in vanilla, and further testing reveals I don't even need different audio channels it turns out. Just zapping between cards increases thread count by one (handles increases by ~20, Mem Usage by ~1 MB, and VM Size by 4 MB). I will report this bug in TsReader thread.
Edit: Starting and stopping .ts recording has same effect.

I have just started and stopped the very same .ts recording more than a 100 times on vanilla TsReader. No hangs.

I´m just jumping in here, maybe offtopic but anyway. Is this app. only useable with TVEengineV3 or can you also use it on the regular setup ??
