I´m just jumping in here, maybe offtopic but anyway. Is this app. only useable with TVEengineV3 or can you also use it on the regular setup ??

TVE3 only. Plain MP cannot (and never will) support subtitles.

Ok. Thanks for the swift reply. Earlier i used MP for watching TV via my FireDTV-S/CI but my wife wants subtitles (living in Sweden) and didn´t work before so i will monitor this new app. and when it´s working i will switch back to MP (now i´m using DVBviewer ONLY for it´s good at showing subtitles else i thinks it´s pretty crappy prog).

I think that the subtitle feature in MP is usable at the moment. Drop DVBviewer and get on the MP wagon.... :)

I agree. The subtitle filter is definitely usable. The current bugs are much less annoying than DVBviewer :)

Oh well. I got a crash. After starting and stopping the same old .ts recording many times, sometimes resuming from last position sometimes not. On rare occasions a hang occurs when starting the recorded show.

Again, could you check if this is reproducible with vanilla TsReader? On my HTPC using unmodified TsReader MP hangs randomly when starting up a .ts file playback.

I have just started and stopped the very same .ts recording more than a 100 times on vanilla TsReader. No hangs.

Could you upload that .ts file so I could do some debugging with it. Also it would be nice if you could list all the currently open issue that you are having with the subtitle filter (and leave out all issues that are also reproducable with the vanilla TsReader.) Currently the open issues are a little bit all over the thread :)

I am uploading it as I speak. It is called something like "DR 1_American Cuisine.......ts" (52 MB) - actually I may have posted it before somewhere, as I used it to debug the original dvbsub.ax

Also, I will edit my post (work in progress) on the first page to contain open bugs related to DVBsub2.ax. Going through it, the list getting shorter and shorter as most bugs seem to be related to TsReader.

Thanks, I'll download it and will do some testing on tomorrow evening.

Btw. last two days I have been working with tve3 engine side, trying to solve the dynamic subtitles not getting recorded (also dynamic audio streams...)

If you have any free time or issues with subtitles or audio streams missing from .ts files ( subtitle / audio stream are selectable in VLC but don't contain any data) please see the following post / thread. I know that at least YLE in Finland is changing or turning on / off the audio & subtitle PIDs on the fly...

    Hi Tourettes

I experienced a new kind of bug tonight. While watching a TV-show the dvb-subtitle suddently froze about 21.15-21.20 o'clock. The video and audio didn't freeze.

Watching the same passage again (because I recorded the show) the dvb-subtitles were showing nicely again.

    I have attached my log.
