Hi everybody,

I would like to have your opinion about the eee top (see google, it is the eeebox included into a touch screen) at a low price (about 500 € compared to a PC + screen or TV)

What do you think about using this eeetop (as a client only), for example in each bedroom: it is design, without cable, the size of the screen is good for a bedroom.
Of course I plan to have a strong server for all these eeetop.

Except maybe for HDTV, I think I will be able to see DVD, HD video, SD TV.

Any opinion? Is somebody using it?

Thanks for your coments!

I am running an eeeTop1602 in my kitchen atm.
works great, except that I have some stuttering issues in tv preview only. TV Fullscreen is working flawless.Only SD Though, for HD the inbuitl graphic is just to weak.
Another point is, that there are no touchscreen skins for MP atm. which makes it hard to navigate especially in Fullscreen Tv (no esc/ back)
But I hope that someone will "invent" a touchscreen skin soon.

    cheers

:D very much for your information!

Yes a touchscreen interface would be great for MP.
You don't use a remote control with this eeetop?

    Cool!
So the problem you spoke about to navigate is not really one, even with TV?
Is the eetop yet configured to adapt a remote or it needs an additional piece of hardware?
(Sorry for all these questions, but I need to be sure of what I am planning to buy!)
    So, thank you!

I forgot to ask you: is it noisy when working (when playing HD movie for example)?

yeah, the ipimp works quite good...you can navigate like with an usual remote.

there is no Ir-receiver coming with the eeeTop, so if you need a remote, you would need an IR-receiver (usb preferably....).

I just upgraded my eeeTop with 1gb Ram (so 2GB over all), now the preview stuttering is gone also, maybe because the grafics - adaptor is using a variable amount of memory....

    cheers
