im not digging this new wizard when running an import (is it possible to go back to the old style?), not least because even though i've unticked the option to automatically sort by "aired" no matter what i do, it still sorts by aired.

normally thats fine, but "firefly" i want to have that sorted by dvd order..

i click on "start import" and can see all the files there named correctly and matched correctly, i click "next" and it automatically matches the show, so i click next again. now if i change the drop down box to "dvd" then click on match, it doesnt do anything except highlight 1x11 (where the dvd order is 1x1).

    Thats because its matching to the corresponding aired order. How its displayed there doesnt really matter.

    1x1 - Serenity (DVD Order) == 1x11 - Serenity (AIRED ORDER)

    In the GUI, you will see that you can also change the sort order from the context menu Actions menu, so even though you matched your local files against dvd order you can display them as aired order or dvd order.

    In GUI, by default if you match against DVD Order then it sorts by DVD order.

    not least because even though i've unticked the option to automatically sort by "aired" no matter what i do, it still sorts by aired.

    This is only for Auto-Import from GUI.

    no offense but it kind of does, i have the files named in dvd order (what kinda of idiot network shows the pilot near the end of the run??) as thats how it was meant to be, so thats the way its going to be for me.

    nope you've lost me. i dont know how i can make this any clearer, where is this actions context menu you mention?? how do i select to sort by dvd order?

    its telling "oh yeah change the sparkplugs and problem solved!" ..thats fine if you know your way around cars, but if you dont, you're hearing the advice, but its going in one ear and out the other..

    my whole point is that there doesnt seem to be an option to do this using this dumb wizard interface. with the old system, it was simple and as if needed, it prompted every series how to sort them: aired/dvd/absolute, yes it was less automated, but at least it did what was needed!

    I would suggest you watch your tone, especially with people helping you, and to people providing this plugin to you for free.

    What damienh said is true, perhaps with a nicer tone someone will feel compelled to give you step by step instruction.
