Do you think it might be possible to change the fanart system to use some other reference (such as the name of the video) instead of the original title?

I ask because a lot of Movie names use characters (examples ! : ' ) that are unsupported in file names, and means we have to rename movies in the database.

Also, I still don't understand what the checkbox for 'use default image if fanart not found' is for. The only time I seem to be able to get this to work is when the skin defines it.

The search fanart function already taje into account invalid characters for filename. So you don't have to rename your movie titles if it contains one of those characters !

Fanart is search by titles in the directory given in the setup, if not found, you can display the movie thumb as fanart. In that case the name is given in your database in the Picture field (pb : as it's a poster, the format of that picture isn't adapted to be displayed in 4:3 or 16:9)

OK, some skins replace plugins access by some others, so try with a Blue3 skin to see if you get the standard MyVideos access again.

Thanks Zebons, I'll experiment a little more when I get home.

I had previously tried to point My Films at the folder Moving Pictures uses, but the search system wasn't successful. I also had an original title called "10,000 BC" with fanart named "10000 BC" and it wouldn't work. I'm sure I've had other problems, but will see if I can replicate.

Thanks for a plug-in. The problem with 4.79f badly works in Titanium though 4.73 all well.

Zebons, Im not able to understand this feature:

Fanart management... If you have many pictures, you can define which one to define as fanart

In some films I have 2 or more pictures in the fanart folder, named:
title.jpg
title1.jpg
title2.jpg
...
but only title.jpg is showed as fanart. In detailed screen, I cant select wich one I want. How is this feature supposed to work? Should MyFilms display randomly one of the pictures?

There is only one picture as fanart stored with title name in the 'Fanart Picture path' field for each movies, you can display others as additional pictures for that give the correct path in your setup for 'Additional Picture Path (IMG) '. You can display those pictures found by clicking on he button under the movie's thumb and then select the displayed picture as fanart with the appropriate function in the update menu.

I have defined a "aditional picture path" and placed there my aditional fanart pictures (300 1.jpg, 300 2.jpg, saw 2.jpg , etc) but I still cant see that button. I suppose that is a skin problem What skin does support this? I would like to test it

Media Portal crashed when activating fanart function

When i activated the fanart function. My MP crashed and closed immediately after starting
Here is the log file, please help me to fix it

Edit: When i downloaded the MyFilms lastest version. The detailed views results lot of errors (empty detailed views), then i downloaded a version of MyFilm which i enclosed here to fix that problem (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-films-164/empty-details-page-48664/)

I do not know whether this error is due to that file or not

check your "secondary title" setting. make sure its not set to none.

Looks like you're using StreamedMP - I've had similar issues with this skin.
