xml uncorrectly parsed in MyFilms
Hi,
I am new to this forum but using MediaPortal already for quite some time.
For the last 12 months I've been using version 0.2.3 but yesterday I decided to upgrade to the new version 1.0.0.0
With this new install, MyFilms does not work 100% correctly. I supose the xml is uncorrectly parsed.
Here are the details.
As indicated on the 'How to upgrade pages', I did a clean install (uninstalled old program, removed all remaining old installation files, removed all remaining user files and databases, and did a clean install).
I did a very quick configuration of the new MP version, and then installed two plugins: TVgemist, and MyFilms.
For MyFilms I also used the latest version 4.7.9a. I quickly created an XML database with some films in it, and then did a config of the plugin.
Result:
- MyFilms is visible in the main screen of MP.
- It shows all films in the database correctly (although the design is not 100% esthetic as the moviepicture is to big and running over the text and rating-stars, but I can live with that
)
- Movies also play correctly.
BUT ...
if I click on a movie and go to the detail screen, the details are not shown. E.g., film length is "#duree" (without quotes), film country is "#pays", and so on. Only the film title is correct, and the year is also correct. However, if you browse to the next film in this detail screen (on the left you have arrows to move from one film to the other), the title changes correctly to the next film, but the year remains the same (i.e., from the previously shown movie).
After looking in the source XML files, I found that "#duree", "#pays", ... are labelnames in the xml files. I tried changing these to "#Length", "#Country", ... as in the XML database, but this did not solve the problem.
I did not find an answer to this problem in this forum although I found similar questions. If any of you can help me solving this issue, I'll be very glad!
Some additional information: I tried to use as much of the "normal configuration". I did not use anything fancy such as skins, ... I started using Blue3Wide, and Blue3, and as these did not work I changed to other skins. All skins I tried have the same problem.
Any help is appreciated.

Edit: less than 60 minutes later ... Why is it always that if you cannot solve a problem for a whole day, you find it immediately after posting it to a forum
After exploring further in the error logs, I found that some files could not be read by the mediaportal user account. This was due to the fact that the installation was executed as an administrator, and the mediaportal itself runs as an user with restricted privileges (which seems most logical and secure for me). The scripts written in the directory /documents and settings/all users/application data/ may then be unreadable as simple users may not have sufficient permissions. I think this should be altered such that this is automatically ok at the time of install.
Also, a second bug found: in the config of myfilms, do not set "secondary title" to <none>. It may also hinder your plugin from working properly.
Hope this helps out people with similar problems.
Best regards!
