Atmoduino is a good alternative for SEDU but takes more time to get up and running, still working on getting FastSPI v2 to function with it which will improve the overall experience.
Recently switched to SEDU because it has WS2801 led blocks which look nice and makes everything modular plus they ship to the Netherlands in no time, but you can order the same leds (WD2801 / LPD8806) from Adafruit (US) for instance and get the same result.
You would only need to get the SEDU mainboard somewhere else or find someone who will ship it to you.

Hello. I ordered an arduino uno and lpd8806 strips, flashed atmoduino to arduino and installed atmolight plug-in from the extentions installer, wich installed the mpcorechanger as well.
Now, It works but I'm having a lot of frame drops when watching a movie, I think MP is not communicating atmowina.exe and insted I am using the generic live view, can this be the case? I hope someone can help me out. I am using MP 1.4 final

the problem! the modded atmowina.exe file which supports 256 channels has caused the stuttering. This version has some more changes inside that raises the amount of the processed data up to three times. If i use the modded atmowina.exe for 170 channels, everything is working fine.

Can you provide the 170 channels version for testing? Thanks!

Ok got it working with version 0.50, the thing missing was registering the dll

In the config there is an option to put hours : Ambilight will be disabled during those hours?? or enabled only during those hours?? I want to know for sure!

Also, my remote does not have the red/green/blue/yellow buttons, Can you add some other buttons to map on/off ?

+1 it would be better to use a letter from keyboard instead of red/green/yellow/blue buttons. After that we can map this keypress to any remote button.

@azzuro can you talk with the plugin developer to implement this idea ?

Why not just map a button to red/green/yellow/blue? I did the same, i have these buttons, but am using them for something else, so i mapped a different button to red.

Well depends on what remote you have and what software you are using with it. I use a mce remote without any addetional software. Othersthat are supported directly by mp should work aswell. Open mediaportal config, go to remotes and then to the tab of your remote. Than click on Mapping or for X10/Hauppauge on Learn. There you can brwose to the button you like to use and add a new condition and add the command for e.g. red button. Have a look in the wiki its explained there . Hope that helps.
