For those using the Atmowin atmoduino mod there's now a merged version with all the enhancements made by Angie05 and with support for both the SEDU/DMX and Atmoduino protocol.
We are sharing code to keep everything in sync but expect a delay for new versions as merging takes some time.

It can be downloaded at the atmoduino bitbucket repo (binary only) or directly via:

Only thing missing is the UAC fix at the moment, but at least the GUI is in English again ;-)

This new version doesn't work that well I use AtmoDuino with a WS2801 ledstrip. This version doesn't respond good on the content, the lights only turn on with very bright images.

Also with the color changer, the lights go out sometimes, like a "breathing" effect. In the old version, the lights just change color and didn't go out.

It's because of the new way the darkness limit handled, to get the old behavior:

Increase darkness limit (now has more steps)
Increase/decrease sensitivity limit (new feature)

Currently have mine set at sensitivity 12 and darkness limit 4, the response is a bit slower during fast scenes but more relaxed too watch imo.
Will add some info buttons next to each function.

/edit: tooltips added and will make a new release.

Edge weighting: Amount of screen measurement from sides, higher is more screen measured.

Darkness limit: This sets the amount of dark needed before leds are turned off, increase to require more darkness from source on screen before turning off leds (recommended setting it at 4 for sith lords)

Zone overlap: Zone Overlap isn't fully documented yet, but would keep it at 3 (0=max Detail, 3=default)

Saturation: Increase for more vibrant colours

Sensitivity: Low level sensitivity slider (threshold value of color which remains black, try 12, 0=off), this and darkness limit control when leds need be turned off with dark images

Still doesn't work right (I even exaggerated the values). Don't see much difference

But these values.. I don't understand why they affect color changer? They are also in the "Live image parameters" section.. The color changer just has to... change colors..

Also, when I higher the Edge weighting and go to Gradients, I see the green gradient is smaller then with low values.. Is it the other way around you say over there? So higher is less screen measured?

Added it to the issue tracker, the color changer seems to be resetting with some colors (green to blue works fine for instance).

Does someone can post a screenshot of the supposed sub-menu MP should pop when you press 'STOP' button ?

Because when I press 'STOP', nothing pop up for me.

edit: forget that guys, I found why the pop up did not showed up. I've started MP with Atmowin effecte active OFF, it has to be live or static.

we will never distribute a kit for the ambilight. we just want to provide the software and the information to let you build it on your own.
The only thing you need is a SEDU-Board or Arduino as controller an the proper LED-Stripes.
You can take a look at this thread (afaik the only english thread about building an ambilight in this forum) for some information. I wanted to open up a complete new thread for the ambilight software and the instrucation manual to build one but i havent had the time in the past
