About the DM500 seems there's some models with a driver problem
Seems also that ppl @ dreamstreamer solved the problem
DM 500 issues.
"To get a good streaming from DM 500 you must do this:
Use Gemini 3.4 MAX VAR (don't use any other).
Check "Use modified driver" in the setup dialog. (snakehand modified driver)
Set Delay stream start >= 6000 in the setup dialog. "

I can see more channels now via the DreamStreamer , but I'll need to see how to apply these settings to the plug-in as well.

Do you know if the source code of DreamStreamer is available?

Hello, Im trying to get this plugin to work. I have installed Media Portal 0.2.3 and the plugin. When i go into the plugin Media portal chrashes??

I use DM7000S and PP image.

Is it possible to watch recordings from the internal dreambox hdd?
Would be perfect to have a choice to make recording to the internal hdd or PC hdd

however i indicates that with some fine-tuning VLC can work better.

As for "recording when leaving the plugin page" - I still leran the MP code to understand how to have the small TV screen at the lower corner .... for recording to run the VLC activeX must be active.

Although I can keep the recording thread running, the main issue I have still exists - Steaming from Db is unstable and does not support all channels.

I looked at DremStreamer - it basically attempts to replace the Streamts and Init files on the Db500 and tries to reconnect again and again until it succeed. This cannot help much if you plan to record a movie or a sport event where you need a reliable streaming.

I'll try to upgrade to Gemini 4.2 to see if it improves (anyone has an experience with 4.2 streaming ?)

A better solution will be:
Have a simple TV card ($50-70) that can receive the Db500 RF
Modify the plugin that it will show the video from the TV card (not the VLC stream)
Keep the other functionality of Web_EPG or channel change in Db as implemented in this plug-in

This way I can be sure to record all programs all time with no stream stability issues ... what do you think?

unstable DB streaming is a DM500 only problem , models starting from 500+ to 7025 didnt suffer that problem
Saw ppl that published some DM500 customizing to solve that problem
If you still wanna try , test the PLI image , the one named (old framebuffer), saw some threads reporting that worked

I have a 500+ now and can assure streaming probs are vanished


The solution you mentionned is the one adopted by dreambox+vlc using the process plugin only , and anyway video and audio cannot reach the quality of DB stream
