Re: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

If check the "Transcode" checkbox you *must* set the path&filename to the transcoder program.
RTSP is only available for recordings and not for live tv. The "[RTSP]" profile is added automatically in the web if.
If a profile is not valid it won't get saved - and with transcode=checked and transcoder=empty it is not valid.

The reason why rtsp for live tv is not supported is that i can't stop the tv stream when you close the player because control is inside the streamer.exe of TvServer. So you would end up with a blocked tv card - or you would have to manually stop live tv

Re: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

I installed as per instructions (sort of - I had to manually copy the files because W7 didn't like RAR copying them into "Program Files") into the 24/12/2009 SVN and I'm now trying to connect to it from a client PC by going to http:\\192.168.1.101:8080 without success.

I didn't alter any of the settings.
Both server and client are vanilla W7 Ultimate installs with very little other than MP & TVserver installed
    I didn't install anything extra (I'm assuming .net35 is part of W7 - although I did subsequently try installing dotNetFx35setup.exe - no change )
I did turn off the firewall just in case this was causing problems

Does IIS (or similar) need to be installed/configured?

    Help!

    Bump!
I'd really like to get this working but I've hit a wall.
The software appears to be correctly installed but how do I config and use it?

    Thanks

    Ian

Re: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

    Hey Gemx,
great plugin. As I understand your idea correctly you're trying to build an environment for other developers to write webserver plugins, don't you?
If so, I'd recommend creating a view in the configuration where to register these plugins, give em a name, link to the folder where they reside, perhaps rewite the url to access them, etc.
At the moment your Webfrontend Plugin is the default plugin to access. But If I got your idea correctly, it only shows the power of your environment.
In fact, it would be good, to have an entry point from where you can access all plugins in a single view.
    eg: index.php
    DocRoot\webfrontend <helds your plugin>
    DocRoot\foo <helds plugin foo>
    DocRoot\bar <helds plugin bar>
Perhaps it's an idea to split your Webfrontend in different modules/plugins. EPG/scheduling, Video Frontend, Music Frontend, etc.

I'd like to start writing a static module for testing purpose, but I'm not 100% sure where to start or place my files, register my plugin. And I spoke with Cheezy, who develops iPiMP. He is willing to adopt his iPhone webfrontend to register as a plugin within your Webserver as long as your environment delivers his needs.
I'm not sure if you already talked with him about that. Here's a link to cheezys thoughts about implemeting iPiMP to WebServices. *KLICK*
I'd be more than happy to discuss my idea or answer any question.
    Happy new year!

Re: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

    Hi,

Sorry but the Beta 5 do not work.
i can install this, and then i can configure 1 Time.
But there is no Service at port 8080 or any other.
Wenn i configure at next time, the configwindow will not load, the window will left blank!

What can i do to use the Beta5?

Re: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

Vielen Dank für deine schnelle Fehlerkorrektur.
Super, jetzt funtzt das alles wie gewollt.
Nur die *.bat Übergabe der VLC-URL stimmt noch nicht, da wird "/Streamer.aspx?idChannel=875&idProfile=0&sectoken=546C794867625A5856677070516A704646666354353076306F545872534D6269754D5764427A714E6C504D73576936744A6F5A65356B733561304D564F574A48" übergeben, davor fehlt aber noch die URL-Angabe.
Sonst wirklich super, vielen vielen Dank!

    !!UPDATE!!
Doch zu früh gefeut, sobald ich das VLC-Plugin auf dem Client auswähle, startet der Webserver nicht mehr und lässt sich auch nicht mehr konfigurieren.

Hier nun noch die gewünschten Logs:

    tv.log

    error.log

AW: [New Plugin] WebServices + Transcoded streaming + Web Interface for TvServer and

The plugin does not load on my sytem (new beta 5). The error.log shows the following error:

2009-12-31 21:15:41.199933 [10]: MPWebServices: Exception raised while loading settings:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    at TvServerPlugin.Settings.LoadSettings()
2009-12-31 21:15:41.199933 [10]: MPWebServices: settings are invalid. Can't start web server!!!
2009-12-31 21:16:01.647570 [SetupTv]: MPWebServices: Exception raised while loading settings:
Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
    bei TvServerPlugin.Settings.LoadSettings()

This happens after installing the new version over the old one. Uninstalling and deleting manually and installing it again does not help. Is there a way to make a "clean" new install of the plugin. Maybe there are some older settings that need to be deleted...?
