Hello from a newbie to the forum, so be gentle and I hope I have posted in the right place. I have done a search and can't find the answer, so please help.

I have a Hauppauge 1100 card, and it's working with WinTV, well, mostly, I still have to use Linein for the audio.

I'm inputting the TV from a Sky box using composite video, however the RF out is also plugged in to the RF on the card and it can see Sky on that as well.

To get a better system and hopefully use all the features I'm trying to move to Media Portal. The config program detects the analogue channel (assume from the RF in, can't find a mention of a composite input channel). In the Media Portal program if I select TV, I get a blank screen, goes screen if you click the mouse on it. However, if you record, and playback, does playback video, so must be able to see the card. So why no TV being shown when just playing TV? Ideas anyone.

WinXP, tried last two versions of Media Portal, behaves the same.

BTW Hauppauge's drivers and webpages are a real mess! Must have installed this card about 30 times to get it working as well as it does. Sigh.

Cheers

Try a different video codec in settings/tv. You should have at least 2 installed with MP... MPV and Dscaler.
Depending on your system and programs/codecs installed there will be others also.
If you cant get it to work with one of the two, you may have more serious issues.
Hope that helps,
