Hello.
Recently I started using Mediaportal to watch live TV.
I'm using Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950Q. I'm using it for analog cable tv.
When Mediaportal works it is a great app, but I'm being plagued with "No Audio/Video Detected".
Last night I've watched it no problems, shot down the computer, started it up this morning and again I got "No Audio/Video Detected". Yesterday I had the same thing and install- reinstall TV server part of Mediaportal fixed it. All this time native app from Hauppauge WinTV7 works fine. Any idea what to do, it is very frustrating.
Mediaportal version 1.21
Thanks.

I think it would be better to deinstall the Win-TV application (only keep the drivers and the IR-Remote-Serviceprogramm named like "IR32" or similar).

I also noticed that there is an option for the card to go in State "STOP" instead "PAUSE", maybe someone know better bout this, i dont need changes on that with my Hauppauge HVR.

This is ridicules.
I had it working in the morning but reinstalling TV Server, had to restart the system and now I get "No Audio/Video Detected".
I thing I should have posted it in support forum.
Can anyone move it or should I repost it?
Thanks

Even your answer sounded a bit unkindly, i try it more explicit. Maybe some other software (e.g. Hauppauge-Applications/Windows MediaCenter) preloads the card in an way that MePo can't access it correctly. I remember such problems on my System, wich was gone by deinstalling the whole Apps bundeled with the cards (except drivers) and rebooting the System. It's just an idea, maybe an try worth.

Maybe you can also check for running processes on your system, to determine that.

Another idea is to check if the card can be deactivated by Windows to save battery (if so, deactivate this).

    Hi there,

    Purely guessing here....

As above check for other software that is "grabbing" the device and stopping MePo accessing it.

Also, you may need a delay in TV server initialisation - some devices take time to initialise

You may need to reinitilise the device from waking from sleep/hibernation?

    Well....
Restarted the system and "No Audio/Video Detected" is back.
1.Uninstalled WinTV app, uninstalled TV server(mediaportal)-restarted system.
2.Reinstalled TV-Server, Opened TV-Server Configuration-have preview on channel, double checked "When this card enters idle state do the following-IT IS STOP CARD", closed TV-Server Configuration.
    3.Reopened TV-Server Configuration -NO PREVIEW-"No Audio/Video Detected" is back
Microsoft Media Center Services are disabled.
TV card does not have power management options in "device manager".
Putting delay before TVServerdetects card does not make a difference.
I can not get it to work without uninstalling-reinstalling TV-Server and it only works till next reboot or less.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Tibbar

This issue is almost certainly a software encoder issue. Software encoders are just not reliable, which is why we don't officially support tuners that require them and why I highly recommend tuners that have hardware encoders (like the HVR-1300 or 2250). If you need to stick with the 950Q for whatever reason then try installing the ATI encoders as recommended -->here<--. Use the "software encoders" tab in the "general" section of TV Server configuration (here) to confirm they're installed after installing the recommended software, then prioritise them above the existing Hauppauge/Mainconcept/Cyberlink encoders on your system. You could also try fiddling with priorities of existing encoders if you already have more than one. Currently you're using the Cyberlink video encoder with the MainConcept (HCW) Layer II audio encoder.

    Hope that helps...
