No Free Card Available TBS6984 DVB-S2 Quad Tuner PCIe Card (1 Viewer)

I had MediaPortal working yesterday but today I am getting this error when I go into TV, "No free card available". I am using a TBS6984 DVB-S2 Quad Tuner PCIe Card with 2 inputs from Sat into tuner A & B. I also have DVBViewer installed, I am not sure if DVBViewer is the cause of this problem or wether it is a simple solution. Please advise. I will provide more info if needed. Hi,

have you mapped all Channels to the TV Card inside the TV Server Configuration?
"TV-Channels --> Channel Mapping" choose your TV Card in the dropdown menu, select all channels on the left side and click the ">>" Button.

EDIT: I forgott something...you have to map the channels to every tuner you use. if you mapped the channels only to the first tuner and he is used for e.g. recording, this message occurs.

Hi legnod, thankyou for your quick reply. Yes, all the channels are mapped to tuners A & B in my card, But in the channels available column to the left of channels mapped column, there are no channels listed..

Yes thats OK....only channels which are not mapped to the selected card will be displayed on the left side....Have you tried to use the "manual control" inside TV Configuration? Can you start timeshift or record a channel with that? LINK
Have you restarted your HTPC or occurs this error after resuming from standby?

Yes, I can Start timeshift, i clicked record but im not sure if it worked or not, how can i check if it is recording?

I have a feeling this is a much simpler problem, I think the tuners might be flagged as in use by DVBViewer or something, even though DVBViewer is not in use at the moment, but im not sure about that either because I did have them both running this time last week... Im going to call it a night now, but i will pick up where i left off tomorrow. Thanks again Legnod

search inside the folder you defined under "TV-Server --> Recording".
i currently dont know what could be wrong...i think you need to post some logfiles.

Yes, Recording from the "manual control" in the TV Server is working.

Any update on this issue?
I'm facing the same problems since a few weeks. I didn't install any new software, new plugin or update (maybe only regular windows update) and all of a sudden I get this 'no free card available' error.

Occurs only on wake up of the system, randomly. Tried to find out if this only occurs when the system goes to sleep automatically, or when I forced the system to sleep mode. No relation found.

Workaround, exit mediaportal, startup tv server configuration. What I do is navigate to tv-server, my 2 fireDTV cards show N/A. I change number of ip tv cards from 1 to 2 and back to 1 again. This forces a tv-server reboot. After the reboot of the tv-server everything works fine again!

Never had this issue when using windows media center. So I think it is related to media portal....?

I'm using media portal 1.2.2, Windows 7 and 2 Digital Everywhere FireDTV cards. Also using power schedular++ and reinitialize tv cards on wake-up is turned on.

Hope there is a way to solve this. Really like media portal don't want to use media center again!
