Hi all,

I am using a floppyDTV-C card with an Alphacrypt cam module.
When I switch from a FTA channel to a Scrambled channel I am getting the following error message :
"Unable to start timeshifting"
"No free card available"
Scrambled channels are working fine, but this event only happens when I am switching from FTA to Scrambled channels.
Installed all new versions from date of 5th of December of MediaPortal Server and MediaPortal.

Does anybody have a solution to solve this issue?

A solution.....Nope sorry :sorry:

But I use two CAM's now for testing:
A Magic-module which doesn't work at all witch MP---> No video/audio detected
And a Aston 1.05 ---> The same problem you describe every now and then. But NOT allways.
So it's definitely not CAM related.
It would be (so very) nice if this could be solved :D

It looks like something to do within a same transponder or frequency range and causing Timeshifting service unable to switch from FTA to scrambled.
Ned 1 channel is FTA. When I change it to scrambled channel like Ned 2, Ned 3, RTL 4 I am getting this message.
But when I change it to RTL 5 it works again. So when I Zap from Ned 1 channel to RTL5 I do not get the error message. RTL5 is also a scrambled channel.
Maybe this info will help further.

I have solved the problem. Thanks to a threath mentioned on this forum.
- Startup TV server configuration
- Go to TV Server
- Select FireDTV BDA Tuner DVBC
- and click on "Edit"
- Change the CAM limit higher then 1

By default the Alphacrypt Common Interface setup in CA mode is set on : MULTI / DYNAMIC
Otherwise it will not have any effect. This is only needed when you changed it to SINGLE mode in the past.

For your info :D

    Hi!

I have the same problem as you, also with an alphacrypt cam.

So which setting you have on the CAM Modul? Multi or Single?

I don't understand the CAM Limit "Higher then 1"?? So what's your setting here? 2?

    Hi jof,

Alphacrypt Cam module you need to set to Multi/Dynamic
Cam Limit you can set to 2 as it worked for me, but changed it to 5 as I do not want to be be bothered again of any other error message.
