Not sure I get why I can watch my ESPN, AMC, etc, but when it comes to premium channels like HBO, Showtime, I get "Channel is encrypted/scrambled" or something like that.

My TV Tuner card is handling that just fine as it worked under WMC without error.

Why is MP 1.12 not letting the card do it's thing and present my premium channels?

FIOS is my provider, btw.

    Hello again

Why is MP 1.12 not letting the card do it's thing and present my premium channels?
In short: because MP doesn't support DRM, and so the card won't allow MP to receive premium content. WMC is basically the only PC software that did support premium channels. Other software either can't afford to get certified due to the cost (tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars), or can't get certified in the first place due to the fact that they're open source (people could just change the code to circumvent the DRM restrictions => no certification).

In MP's case: we survive on donations. There's no way we can afford certification... and we're open source as well, which means we basically have no hope of ever getting certified even if we had the money.
