You might also want to check out the Tesla driver confirmed working by other GT430 users, info can be found here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/gt430-vs-gt520.104787/

I'm currently using 276.52 drivers (Quadro/Tesla with modified inf file) - I tried 297.03 a few months ago and had problems with black screens on resume from sleep, so they got ditched.....not tried any of the 3xx versions.

Is this problem specific to LAV ? (do other DXVA decoders work OK e.g. PowerDVD ?)

When did it start going wrong i.e. have you changed anything in the system recently ?

I've used LAV video decoder in CUVID and DXVA2 modes for H.264 HDTV (1080i @ 50 Hz) for a long time on a GT430 with no real problems - in fact it's my preferred decoder for HDTV.

It has never worked for TV, i only switch to LAV few days ago. I mean Microsoft DTV-DVD codecs work but they act funny sometimes (notice 90% CPU while watching tv sometimes), hence i thought id give LAV a try.

BTW putting LAV Video Decoder into CUVID mode will first require to "regsvr32.exe LAVCUVID.ax" right? which i have done.[DOUBLEPOST=1350381587][/DOUBLEPOST]

I installed 276.42 as the link in that thread pointed to that, and i see no change. DXVA mode works ok but not CUVID.

    Hi,
"regsvr32.exe LAVCUVID.ax" is very old now.
Latest LAV Video include it with a lot of fixes.

If you cannot get cuvid to work, think you have some serious issues with windows or the codecs you have installed, time for filmerit I think (link in signature)

I would uninstall any codec packs, even the Lav filters themselves, remove anything you manually installed, now run filmerit, if it finds any errors, unlock using the padlock symbol, use the big red button to do a fix of all found errors, now reboot and reinstall the Lav filters from here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156191, if you want to then upgrade to the very latest test release with dvd fixes, you can get them from this post http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1595708&postcount=12400, just copy them to your LAV install directory, normally C:\Program Files\LAV Filters\x86

Now open the LAV video config and enable cuvid, hopefully you should now have things working correctly.

To begin with I upgraded to 276.52 drivers with the modified inf as you mentioned before. Uninstalled all codecs incl LAV, Then i did what you said with Filmerit, i got rid of all the errors except Microsoft DTV-DVD as they were disabled using Win7DSFilterTweaker_5.5, so this would naturally show broken?. Installed LAVFilters-0.51.3.exe (x86 and x64) then tried to replace files in LAV install directory with ones in LAVFilters-0.51.3-152 archive, Couldnt do this because files were in use/locked. so i installed them on top of LAVFilters-0.51.3.exe. Finally went to video config and selected CUVID and tried TV in MP but still the same issue.
CUVID freezes pictures, DXVA works but not the greatest results.

I'm baffled as to why, unless you have changed some serious settings inside the nvidia control panel or totally disabled Aero.

If you change the nvidia setting "video display" to use the "nvidia" setting is there any difference.

I'm starting to think you may have a totally borked installation, or your gpu is not working correctly, is scrolling in menu's nice and smooth.
