    Hi ronisle,

you are right that you can't interrupt the suspend request on vista, but you can make sure that recordings are scheduled when the power button of the case or on the remote is pushed and the system goes to standby/hibernate. And this is what I implemented in my solution.
And if a recording is running and your OS is Vista the recording will, for sure, be interrupted. But also there is a solution in powerscheduler possible that restarts the recording after one minute (The current implementation doesn't do this).

    Hi,
We had a fix which where removed because of other bugs when implemented(not sure now exact what it was), but i guess it's more like add & test as heck again, if Mr. Hipp will look @ it i can test ;) The Vista & power off event it's a he.. since M$ prevented stop off it, but thats how it is.....

    Regards

    Hi,

I have downloaded and installed the latest SVN (21720). Unfortunatly this does not solve the problem. Still the PC does not come out from standby to execute the recording. Take a look inside the logfile at 18:19, this is the time when I initiated the standby. As you will see the deinit is executed, later on the powerscheduler plugin is called (as now the copied list is iterated) but as the deinit has already been executed no recording was scheduled. I modified the tvserver with my solution and did the same again at 19:12. As you can see the powerscheduler is executed and sets the wakeup time for my recording.

Excuse the shameless plug, but we've had very good feedback on the standby support in For The Record which actually relies on the standard Windows standby settings (in spirit of the keep it simple principle :)).

So you may want to have a look at that and see if it can help you get reliable recordings from standby?

HMMMMMM, & how will that help MP become better & to handle all kinds of situations?

It completely replaces the standby support (so PowerScheduler should be disabled on both server and client). And apparently Hetfield replied at about the same time I did :)

How about keeping those closed source application adds in own thread :)

Tourrettes :) That's the only bad thing, let's hope they'll release the source ;-) I hope it will stay free, continue to improve, and keep in sync with MediaPortal development. I also hope PowerScheduler will some day work with similar princibles and will be as reliable.

But just now it works well. If it some day doesn't work anymore, or it's not developed anymore, then there is MediaPortal to use. MediaPortal uses also closed source Windows & SQL Server, and many people use codecs which are not open. But of course support for small plugin is more risky.
