No Sound playing DVDs/-Files (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I have this issue sine the last two svn versions.
I just installed the actual svn from today, and still have no sound when playing DVD or DVD files.

However everything works fine in TV.

I tried different codecs, usually I use PDVD 7.3 ultra.

Graphedit shows that there is no directsounddevice connected to the Sound Pin.

what can I do?

you could start by adding your logfiles i would be mostly interested in your mediaportal.log

for dvd navigation to work, you may need to use another decoder than MPV. as for your audio problems, it seems that the default directsound device cannot be preloaded for some reason, and auto-loading later ignores it. could you please tell me the merit of the default directsound device (you can check this e.g. with radlight filter manager under Audio Renderers.

could you please try the attached core.dll which handles the exception in your logfile more gracefully.

merit of the default device is "NORMAL", but I radlight cannot set another value, I get the error "cannot update merrit"
dvd navigation is also not working with cyberlink.....


I'll get you a new bunch of logs right away...

seems that the new core.dll is doing a good job..
I got sound and navigation , BUT stuttering like hell, in both audio and video.

i don't have any idea why it should stutter. did it stutter with those codecs in RC2 too?

you could try attaching graphedit while dvd-playback is running, save the graph to a file, close graphedit+MP, and load&play the saved graph in graphedit.

edit: attached changes; in case the devs think this fix is good, please commit

sorry....the stutter must have been my error...there was still a vnc session open....)
lessons learned-> close vnc-> no stutter....

BUT, anyway here are some new logs, because I now have another issue:

When I tune channels by hitting + or - (on the remote), when I tune a unencrypted channel, coming from an encrypted one, I get audio but no picture.

happens always like that.

switching channels still works, but I only get audio.
