not as far as im aware. Still have the problem, ive now set MP to turn monitor off when nothing is pressed for so many seconds. Music stays on and TV reverts to a no signal but at least it saves the backlight.

Im using the latest version. Looking in the MP logs it says something about loosing DirectX so its obviously dependant on a display, i just dont understand why this isnt a major issue that everyone experiences. It doesnt do it on a normal VGA display only via HDMI or DVI.

Over a year I had no problem with MP, but for 2 weaks, I installed the ATI Catalyst 8.4. After that, I noticed, that the music playback of MP stops when I turn off my LCD! Then I downgraded to version 8.2 of Catalyst and now the problem is gone again!?!
So it's really a driver problem, but I don't know why? The settings in the control center of the driver are the same in both versions, so what's the difference?

I'm having the same issue when turning of TV the sound is gone. I also think it has something to do with the HDMI connection, because when i wait a long time, then sometimes the sound gets back.

I've fixed the issue so far that i've enabled the option in (MP config general) to blank the screen when MP is inactive. That turns the screen black, but not off.

Would like to know if they're is another way to fix this because this reason is exactly why i bought a HTPC case with touchscreen (so the tv doesn't have to be on every time.
