Hi,
Just installed MediaPortal on a laptop for my missus with a twinhan dual USB stick - after some fiddling got everything working perfectly. Really impressed with it - nice work :)

All was working fine for a while then client started coming up with a message 'No Tuner Cards Installed' whenever I tried to select "My TV". Even more bizarre than that is...if I select the TV Guide at this point and pick any channel from there I can view that channel perfectly.

TVServer all seems fine - its all running ok - I can see both the tuners in the config and all the channels and can preview any of them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
John

HAHA!
I've got the same problem:eek:
Yesterday i had problems with my radio settings, which i still do. But today the "No Tuner Cards Installed" message appears. And just like you I can go to the channel guide, choose a channel, and it works... :D

Now i will install XP, hopefully it will be better:)

I get the same thing, even though I just installed winxp about 3 days ago. Funny thing, when I originally installed it, I wasn't getting that error. Then in my time of playing around with different configs, the message just started popping up.

Tunky, could you tell me how you got the Twinhan 704J working with MP? I installed the driver on the cd but MP configuration won't detect it... I've tried everything I can find online but it just won't work at all.

Many thanks,

Paul

mcmoyer - Thats exactly what happened to me. It was all working and I was just setting up the remote control that came with my Twinhan so the important buttons worked as they should - channel up/down volume etc and having done this a few times to set up various bit and pieces it suddenly came up with this error and I've still not found a way of convincing it that the card is installed. Its really frustrating as the program was great when it was working.

rainsong - I didnt have to do anything special - as the Twinhan uses a standard BDA driver then media portal just saw the dual tuners straight away and was up and running. I'm not in front of the laptop at the moment so can't tell you exactly which driver version it is using but I think I just downloaded of their website. One thing I do remember having issues with was the USB port. Apparently the card requires a fairly large power draw on the USB port. On the laptop I'm using it only works on one USB socket out of the three!!!???? - I found other people saying they had to use powered USB hubs with the twinhan to get it working properly. I would install the horrible DigitalTV program that ships with the twinhan first if that works then you know the stick and its drivers are installed and working ok. Now deinstall that and run up Media Portal TV Server Configuration and Click on the TV Servers then the name of your Server and you should see 2 Twinhan BDA DVBT cards in the list. If you do then you need scan for channels now. If not then I'm really not sure why that would be.

Weird , you still got the problem, cannot think of a single thing that would differentiate between turning tv on and using channel guide, whoops just thought of one, shared channels, ie BBC3\4 and CBBC\CBeebies etc, if tuning to either and they are "off air" you might get this, atm I know there are 9 channels this actually affects.

    Just a thought.

Thanks very much for your help, I've got it working in MP now. Now getting the remote working properly is another issue entirely...
Someone should make a budget HTPC with MP pre-installed and everything set up. I'd buy one.

    :D

I think the problem is the skin (standard blue). After switching to another skin (monochrome) this problem was gone at my side.

Solved the problem bij re-enabling the TV plugin.
