Hi,

When I scan all channels on Astra 4A none of the viasat channels are found, channels like TV3 Sweden, TV6 Sweden and Viasat Film Action is just not there

I have since a time back lost my Viasat channels, the whole thing started when I suddenly started to get "no signal" on all viasat channels. My first thought was that the satdish had been adjusted from snow and wind

So I have with the help of FastSatFinder adjusted the dish so It have good signal quality and strenght
I also took the time to upgrade my Mediaportal from 1.2.1 to 1.3.0 but the error persists

I am using:
Windows 7 64bit
Mediaportal 1.3.0
Two Hauppauge Nova-S Plus

Thanks
Magnus

    Hello and welcome Magnus :)

It sounds like you've done the right things so far.
    One other suggestion:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go to the scan section for your tuner.
    3. Click "update satellite list" to update the tuning details.
    4. Scan again.

If that still doesn't help, try to do an advanced scan with the following parameters:
    frequency = 12054000 kHz
    symbol rate = 27500 ks/s
    polarisation = vertical
    modulation = not set
    inner FEC rate = 3/4

Hi and thanks for your reply

I have tried update the satellite list and run the advanced scan option

When I do a rescan after update satellite list I find about 247 channels(same as before), none of the I am looking for :-(
When I do the advanced scan, I get No signal
FastSatFinder says that I have signal Quality 100% and signal Level between 50-80%
I have also tried changing the Prefered network provider from Generic to DVBS, no difference

Even if this is a weak signal shouldn´t I be able to find the channels on that transponder?

I have also tried tune in the dish with the signal meter in a viasat receiver and with that receiver I could see all channels but when connected to the mediaportal ... No Signal

    Thanks
    Magnus

    Hello again

Hi and thanks for your reply
    No problem, my pleasure. :)

    Okay.

When I do the advanced scan, I get No signal
    Hmmm.
I think at this stage I need to ask for log files if you want me to investigate further:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left corner.
    3. Zip up the files you find there and post/attach the zip file here.

FastSatFinder says that I have signal Quality 100% and signal Level between 50-80%
With the same tuner and for the same transponder?
    That is very unusual.
Do you have a DiSEqC switch or motor?
What kind of LNB do you have (if you know)?

I have also tried changing the Prefered network provider from Generic to DVBS, no difference
    This usually makes no difference.

Even if this is a weak signal shouldn´t I be able to find the channels on that transponder?
    No.
If the tuner can't lock on the transponder then the channels won't be found.
From what you're saying, it sounds like something is not quite right with your signal... but I can't really tell much unless you post log files.

    Hi,

Before I start mounting the satdish on another place ...

I still think it is strange that all viasat channels worked when I connected a viasat tuner/reciever, it cannot be only a weak signal ...
Just of curiosity what shall I look for and in what logfile?

Is there any diagtools I could use/test?

    Regards
    Magnus

    Hello again Magnus

Before I start mounting the satdish on another place ...
Nobody is asking you to do that.

What I'm asking for is log files, and answers to these questions:
Do you have a DiSEqC switch or motor?
What kind of LNB do you have (if you know)?

Just of curiosity what shall I look for and in what logfile?
You don't have to look for anything. :)
Please just post all your log files here so that I can take a look on your behalf.

Is there any diagtools I could use/test?
Lets start with the log files, and then we'll see after that...

    Hello Magnus

I didn't see any attempts to scan that transponder in your log file.
There are only 7 tune attempts, and all are successful.
Hence, I can't really see any problem.

    Hi,

Sorry for the late response but I think I have tried everything
(the scan you got in the logfile was all the Happauge WinTV Nova-S card found …)

I have tired setup a separate dish on the roof …
I have had a professional that have tuned the dish for optimal signalI have tested with both I have tried with Viasat and Canal Digital receivers and they give 85-95% Signal Strength and 100% Signal Quality

I bought a new SAT receiver Happauge WinTV-NOVA-HD-USB2
With this receiver I have between 85-95% Signal strength and 95% Signal Quality
... and I can find all channels ...

But the picture gets pixeled and when I change codec from LAV to Microsoft DTV the picture gets smooth but freezes up
Please help, is there anyone that have some suggestions what to do next?
Is there anyone that have experience of the Happauge WinTV-HD-USB2 reciever?

… or is there knows a receiver that works good with “poor” signal J

    Regards
    Magnus
