Thanks again - but I dont think I can figure out what to do or how to do.

I have tried to change the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file - but no luck. I dont know what to change or i have to install something too............

Sorry to bother you all - but I would be very happy to have MedioPortal running on my computer..

Cheers

NO!

Don't give up, you're so close.

I modified an existing card entry for you:

Code:
<capturecard commercialname="TV Walker Lite" capturename="TV Walker Lite" devid="usb#vid_046d&pid_08f6&mi_00#8&1 2f4e848&1&0000#">
    <capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="false"/>
    <tv>
      <interface cat="mux" video="" audio="" mpeg2="0"/>
      <filters>
        <filter cat="tvtuner"		name="TV Walker Lite TvTuner"		            checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="tvaudio"		name="TV Walker Lite TvAudio"		checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="crossbar"		name="TV Walker Lite CrossBar"            checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="capture"		name="TV Walker Lite  A/V Capture"	checkdevice="true"/>
        <filter cat="audencoder"	name="HT MPEG1 Audio Encoder"				checkdevice="false"/>
        <filter cat="mux"			name="HT MPEG Multiplexer"					checkdevice="false"/>
      </filters>
      <connections>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar"		sinkpin="%tvtuner%"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner"		sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="tvaudio"		sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="tvaudio"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar"		sinkpin="%audiotuner%"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="crossbar"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture"		sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="capture"		sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"			sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="capture"		sourcepin="2" sinkfilter="audencoder"	sinkpin="0"/>
		<connection sourcefilter="audencoder"	sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux"			sinkpin="1"/>
      </connections>
    </tv>
  </capturecard>

There are some filters missing. Your graph shows no A/V capture. audio encoder or multiplexer filters. Look for these and add them to your graph, if you even have them. Otherwise delete these entries.

When done, connect the pins. Check that the pin numbers on your graph are the same as the file, and correct if needed.

I did notice that the device ID did not have a rev number. Check that and make sure that my entry is exact.

Also, make sure the names of the card and filters are exactly the same as you find on your computer.

Keep trying,

Paul

Hi again Paul

Would it be possible to make a suggestion to how the xml file should look like?

Is this in the right direction ?

That looks promising.

I think that they all need to connected to each other to work properly. I don't belive that the avi decompressors are correct, unless your card saves the video as an avi file. If your card is a hardware encoder, then things could be different.

Try entering the filter data as you found it and see what happens. Also, with an analog tuner, you should be able to watch TV right from the graph. I think that you right click the tuner filter and select properties. If that works, you're on the right track.

Hmmm...

I don't see any connection to your audio card. But that shouldn't keep the video from playing.

Try redoing the CaptureCardDefinitions file with the info that you have found. Just to see if MP can now find your card. Like I said earlier, the exact names of the filters is important.

Now that you have come this far, maybe someone else in this forum has more knowledge that can help you go further. You have shown that you are more than willing and capable of doing this.

<filter cat="capture" name="TV Walker Lite 0005" checkdevice="true"/>
<filter cat="audencoder" name="HT MPEG1 Audio Encoder" checkdevice="false"/>
<filter cat="mux" name="HT MPEG Multiplexer" checkdevice="false"/>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar" sinkpin="%tvtuner%"/>
<connection sourcefilter="tvtuner" sourcepin="1" sinkfilter="tvaudio" sinkpin="0"/>
<connection sourcefilter="tvaudio" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="crossbar" sinkpin="%audiotuner%"/>
<connection sourcefilter="crossbar" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"/>
<connection sourcefilter="capture" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="mux" sinkpin="0"/>
<connection sourcefilter="capture" sourcepin="2" sinkfilter="audencoder" sinkpin="0"/>

Have you tried using the last configuration file with Media Portal? You didn't say.

Also, If you are not using mpeg2 for this card, that needs to be changed or removed.
I'm referring to the "mpeg2 = "true" " at the top, and other references to mpeg2.

I looked at the specs for your card at the manufacturers web site. It says that it can record mpeg1/2/4, so you should see some mpeg2 decoder filters. Are they installed? Does this card work outside of MP? If so, try changing the settings of it so that it will record in mpeg2.

I still don't know what to do about sound, we'll work on that after the card can be seen by MP.
