I have a Viaccess CAM and my installation is single server. When I check tv channels in Server configuration and try to "Preview" one of them (coded one), I get black screen. The same situation on the client side, if I try to check this stream from VLC (when I start it manually).

When I try to connect to this server from MediaPortal and when turn on TV, I get first "shot" of this channel and picture freeze. Even in full screen.

However, if I turn this channel by pressing "Start Timeshift" in "Manual Control" and then press record, I get quite nice .ts file which I can play in my "Media Player Classic".

Did I missed something in installation or am I just stupid? :)

P.s. logs in attachment are from server.

have you been using the TV-Server before the 1.0RC1 release also?
    if yes, did it work?

    can you please check that
    - floppydtv drivers
    - floppydtv firmware
    - CAM firmware
    are up to date?

    Model : FloppyDTV S2
    GUID : 0x0012872404001567
    HW Ver.: 01.24.04
    FW Ver.: 1.4.0 Build 21440
    Driver : 5.0.1

That's what I've got from FireDTV Support tool. Yes, everything looks like up to date.

I'm sorry, I made a mistake connecting to server and client remotely, so video looks black thru remote client. So here is my true situation:

    1. When "Preview" pressed - I've got freeze picture (it looks like the first shot from channel for the moment I press button). No audio
    2. When connected from VLC, EVERYTHING works. So, video and audio WORKS.
    3. When connected from MediaPortal TV Client, the same freeze picture as in the "Preview". No audio as well.

    So problem still exist.

BTW, the same thing with freeze picture is with recorded programms. Can that be some missing codec?
MPEG-2 Video decoder: MPV Decoder Filter
    Audio decoder: MPA Decoder Filter
Is this correct settings for the Media Portal Tv Client?

    >have you been using the TV-Server before the 1.0RC1 release also?
No, I had problems with SVN releases tuning to sat channel, so I jumped straight to RC1

Offtop: I use this package: NTV Plus on Eutelsat W4 at 36.0°E - LyngSat
If I update satellite list, this package is not there, so I had to create .ini by my self. And I made a mistake in this .ini.
If lyngsat states 12245 R, You have to put it 12245V. It drived me crazy for 2 weeks, then RC1 appeared and I jumped into it, but it didn't work there as well. So I started to experiment and find this "V".
So if it is R You turn it into V, and if it is L, You turn it into H.

This bug looks like my issue as well...

I am seeing the exact same problem. I always get the first video frame (distorded, only half height) and then nothing. Audio plays normally.

    Some more info;
    * I get this effect with TV Server Config Preview option as well as via TV Client.
    * While this happens, I see memory use shooting up rapidly. From 0.5Gb to 1.5Gb in seconds.
    * Memory gets reclaimed when I close the preview window (or when TV Service crashes)
    * When looking at the timeshift buffer file, things seem intact. I can play the file with e.g. MediaPlayer. No distortions. It's just sending the content to the viewer that does not seem to work.

It is as if the streamserver is unable to send the frames to the client for some reason, and starts buffering them all in memory.

I looked at logs, but did not see any error messages that could hint at the problem.

Good luck finding this. I think the TV Client/Server idea is the coolest thing since sliced bread :)

definitly sounds like a issue in TSwriter or TSreader (our DirectShow filters)

i am currently collecting such issues for our developers.

    stay tuned. :)

Could you please upload a small ts dump?

BTW Logs seem quite ok. That must have something todo with the stream being somewhat different from what we normally receive

If there's anything else that I can provide to help debugging, let me know. It only takes me seconds to reproduce the problem.

Would love to get past this point so that I can actually see mediaportal in action.
