I'm trying to use sitecreator to build my own site. From there it is working great, I can get categories, videos and URL and when I press play in file url config the video starts in WMP.

But when I use the same config in Mediaportal and try to play the video it gives me the message "NoActiveProtocol"

Anyone have an idea what that means and how to fix it?

https is not supported I think and your video url starts with https. Try http instead.

This NoActiveProtocol problem now also occurs on some videos on youtube.
Will https be supported in the feature.
A test video for the problem is Amaranthe with the song The Nexus.

Hm, I just tested that exact video and had no problem at all. (Playing the 720p mp4 used http, not https).

    Thanks fot the quick reply.
This is very strange. I'm sure that I tested that version earlier today and then it did not work, but now it works. Maybe I didn't test that version.

This Problem still exists. I have it since some days now. It occures randomly but it seems to happen to newer videos more often. After sometime the video just works. I looked into the log file and found that sometimes a http url is opend and sometime a https url. its seems that https is not working, but how can I tell OnlineVideos to just open the non https url instead?

    Greetings

Hi, I am also having this problem, as of today on more and more videos from youtube.

    Using the latest onlinevideos

While I appreciate that there is an answer to the problem, any idea on a FIX for the problem???

This is a problem that is not going to go away, youtube like a lot of other companies/sites are encouraging HTTPS instead of HTTP for the security perception it lends (real or not).

Youtube specifically is also wanting to move exclusively to HTTPS to assist people in countries where youtube is banned/blocked get around content sniffers.

Unfortunately it does not appear that simply changing the URL to http does not help, since youtube then does a redirect to the https version.

This is now happening on about 1 out of 3 videos that I watch on youtube and is very annoying....

I've been noticing this the last week alot. Random no active protocol. Strangely if I reboot my computer then go direct to online videos the same video will work again. Will have to grab some logs and throw them up.

    Very annoying.
Youtube is my main source of content.
I don't care about https, they know what I watch anyway.
And also, I want them to know what I watch, because they don't like it :)
