Either just before or just after I upgraded to RC1 I stopped getting any EPG data on my Mediaportal install. Hoping it would correct itself I just let it be. I used the Scandinavian epgservice application to download XMLTV data and used the built in xmltv plugin to grab the data from the downloaded xml. I tried doing manual imports several time with no sucess, and I checked the data was in the xml wich it was. I also tried just using DVBC EPG and still no EPG.

So now after RC2 I decided to uninstall everything copleteley remove all remnants of MP data, folders and registry data and start over. And even on a fresh install with CybrDisplay as the only extra plugin installed, No success. No EPG from DVBC, nothing imported from XML. Well it imports to the xmltv plguin fine and I can map the channels fine, but Mediaportal just displays "No Data Available" across the board in the EPG. I checked the "program" table in the database, and there's absolutely no data in there, just one row with NULL data.

Possily related after RC2 I also have issues with the tvservice apparently locking up. If I have watched TV before or activated it in TVServer setup it'll lock up the next time you try to use it. and I have to kill the actual process, as the service won't actually stop, but hangs on "stopping"

Currently I only have it set to grab data for Discovery, on all languages, an dI have all the options under general settings and EPG enabled so it'll grab when timeshifting and refill data to make sure it actually tries to grab something. and xmltv plugin is disabled, so I only have one epg fucntion trying.

Attached are the TV and EPG logfiles after starting tv service, starting MP and watching Discovery.

Well I sort of fixed it I guess.

Apparently my date was set 1 month ish in the future for some reason.

Granted now I got a new problem that's somewhat related. I took the time before I foudn this out to set up WebEPG to see if this would work. wich it did (I figured out the date thing before I first tried it).

But I was missing the EPG entry for Discovery channel, at this point I had removed Discovery from the DVB EPG grabber. So I excited MP, Checked WebEPG config, checked the XML and checked the TVserver config.

When I started up MP again, I had o EPG, after a while Discovery got an entry. Suspecting this was from the DVBC epg, especially since that was the only channel previusly set up to receive it, I excited and checked. and yeah, Dsicovery was again set up to receive DVBC EPG. problem is, now I can't get the data form the XMLTV back, I remove discovery from the list, start up MP, and after a while it gets the DVB epg entry and when I check TV server config it's been turned back on.

Hmm, well fixed again. Turned on the stuff under the General Settings-> EPG, wich the helpfile says is for DVB EPG, but whatever.

Still missing EPG data for Discovery and a few other channels that are in the xml though, but at least it's getting EPG now both xml and dvb :)

Did soe more checking, and found out that there's 3 channels missing EPG data that should have it.

TV3 (N)
Discovery (N)
MTV (N)

These are the only channels with parenthesis in the name that are set up. They are properly linked in WebEPG, and I checked to make sure they are still in xmltv config, There is also data for the channels in the xml, So they shoudl get EPG data.

I even tried renaming the channels removing the (N), and redoing their link in WebEPG config. So there wouldn't be a paranthesis anywhere. Still no go. So for some reason these 3 channels just won't get EPG data despite it being in the xml.

Well yeah, it was the Paranthesis, but I had to actually enter the database, and edit the channel table and remove the (N) fro the channels names in the DB Too. Well it worked for Discovery, so I'm fixing MTV and TV3 too now.

Hi,

I see that we have a very similar setup and have I question that maybe you can help me with. I have Digital Everywhere FloppyDTV that works fine with Canal Digital. However, I have an epg issue. I only get the current program and the next. Do you have a solution for that? Xmltv works fine, but doesn't have information for all the channels. Any help or information about this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

GB

Yeah Canal digital sort of only sends the next two programs epg over the DVB. Though not entirely true since if you use the original box, and you check the epg for a single channel you can see the rest of the day.

xmltv with the Scandinavian epg service was what I used to use. but it sort of lost several channels recently like discovery. So I set up WebEPG with Dagbladet as the source for most channels since I didn't get any data from sol. Dagbladet has most Canal digital channels. Though at the time I didn't get any epg data from Sol my date was still set wrong so it might be that the sol data works as well. And they had pretty much every channel.

So I suggest you check the webEPG setup thread in the WebEPG forum. oh and the first step says that if you use TVE3 you need to enter the channels manually, this isn't true and their Wiki should be updated robably. in RC2 at least WebEPGConf anaged to grab my channels from TVE3 just fine.

Thanks a lot. I had problems with webEPG earlier but I'll try it again. Getting a "perfect" epg is the only thing missing right now. I appreciate your quick reply.
