My machine now seems to be a lot more stable at going into and coming out of S3 but it is missing almost all recordings.

The machine is waking up and trying to record but I am getting
    Code:
2008-12-31 22:55:05.203125 [5]: dvb: LockedInOnSignal could not lock onto channel - no signal or bad signal
in the log even though if I start TV myself on that channel everything is fine

Details for tv are in TV.bak. An example recording was 31st December 22:55 to 01:15 on 1st January.

Both tuners work fine (I can manually record two different transponders at the same time or watch one transponder and record another).

    Any ideas???

    no-one?

    Also noticed this
    Code:
    2008-12-31 23:40:33.203125 [Scheduler timer]: Controller: card:1 type:DvbT is available priority:1 #users:0 same transponder:False
    2008-12-31 23:40:33.203125 [Scheduler timer]: Controller: card:2 type:DvbT is available priority:1 #users:0 same transponder:False
    ...
2008-12-31 23:40:33.218750 [Scheduler timer]: Controller: found 2 available
    2008-12-31 23:40:33.218750 [Scheduler timer]: Scheduler : record on free card:2 priority:1
2008-12-31 23:40:33.218750 [Scheduler timer]: Scheduler : record, first tune to channel
    2008-12-31 23:40:33.218750 [38]: card: Tune 2 to ITV1
The priority was set as 7 and 6 for these cards (TV card has 2x DVB-T, 2x DVB-S and 2 analog inputs). so why does this show both as having priority of 1? Also if unable to get a signal was picked up above should MP not have tried another card instead of retrying the same card many times??

Problems with Pinnacle 7010ix (poor receptions on some transponders) - AVForums.com

Bottom post and the links that contains, may answer some of your questions.
Been through that thread before and re-reading now.

Thing is though that if I wake up machine I can tune into a transponder with no issues. It is only when it is trying to record after waking up.

I think last week I came in when it should have been recording and found the machine on but not recording. When I selected live TV it worked straight away??

OK can we just make sure this is totally powerscheduler\system related.

If pc left on, ie powerscheduler disabled, can you record from every TV card installed exactly at the same time (different muxes required) without any problems.

When you schedule a recording, does it show up in tvserver\scheduled straight away.

Any special settings you may or may not have tried, ie TVServer waits 15 seconds before detecting cards, reinitiliase tuners enabled\disabled, any differences there.

Take it you are running a full admin account, with all Windows power settings disabled.

Just really trying to pin this down WHY!!

Me Too :D I am now even more confused as to where the issue is. Last night I picked a random selection of progammes on various muxes and disabled all but one of the tuners. Machine woke up and recorded all of them bar one (which conflicted with another recording). Thing is that whenever I try to use the dual-tuners manually everything is fine. and I have been unable to re-produce any error without letting the machine go into standby. As we speak I am watching live TV on one mux (Sky Sports News) and happily recording something from another mux (BBC one). Everything is instant and working exactly as I would expect.

I will kick off two simultaneous recordings on differnet muxes in a minute when this program finishes.

Machine is XP-Pro as full admin with all power settings disabled. I have tried the re-initialize tuner option but does not seem to make any difference whether this is on or off. I have not tried the delay in detecting cards (but checking the logs they say the cards have been detected and are available etc. also there appears to be no problems when I go into live TV straight after resuming from standby).

This is also a completely clean install on XP SP3 as I got fed up with a few issues the other day and have started again from scratch. Only other things I have installed are:
    • MP 1.0
    • Haali splitte
    • Power DVD 7.3
    • Xvid decoder
    • TheaterTek
    • DVBViewer
    • Catalyst 8.11
    • RealVNC
    • iMon (only using it for drivers for LCD and program is not running)
    • ESET Smart Security
    • Spybot
    • AnyDVD
so I can't see that there will be any conflicts here.

I did have a few issues with the machine waking but applying the S3 hack seems to have fixed that and machine is waking as it should (albeit client is dead and restarts)

Very close to getting everything working but there is just a little something not working which is making me start to loose my hair

but checking the logs they say the cards have been detected and are available etc.

Mine was also showing both cards available with RC4, even MP1.0 shows both, but if i tried to do a rescan channels after a standby, it showed as a failure on one card, for the first time in a very long time have to use the reinit tuner option to get both tuners fully functional.

That's why i suggested hammering the 4 tuners with multiple crap programs all at the same time, make a note of what you have set to record, just for comparison when they have completed :)

Typically last night I set it to record lots of rubbish (multiple muxes) and some overlapping recordings and everything worked fine. Went into and came out of standby at will and recorded everything it should have done.

Can't hammer all 4 tuners as the two DVB-S ones are not connected (yet...). I think disabling the two DVB-S tuners, the analogue ones and the web-radio might have helped.

Going to leave it again tonight recording random stuff to see what is happening.

My only thought really is that it might be something caused by EPG grabbing. From what I have seen it has gone wrong after EPG grabbing where a recording has been scheduled but TV has not been turned on manually before recording. I am going to do some playing with this later.

Definately not a good idea to have non working cards enabled :)

After S3 the 7010ix input matrix can stop routing a single input to all tuners. Since MP allocates tuners in opposite order for live viewing and recording that would explain your symptom. Feeding both terrestrial inputs a signal is one solution, in strong signal areas a passive splitter should be good enough. The BG drivers may help, not tried it yet (since my PC doesn't like S3 at all).
