CreateGraph() FAILED capture filter not found

Thats the error, but MP is finding your TV cards according to the Mediaportal log.

Do not know what to try, besides TVE3 possibly as it recognises cards differently to the inbuilt engine.

I know this was suggested previously, but no one has come back and said if it worked or not.

Have not got another hauppauge card to test with :(

    thx for the reply,

i think the CreateGraph() FAILED capture filter not found error is not the main problem,
because i have this log message since the first MP install with my Nova-T USB2 without any restrictions.

i will try the TVE3 next time...

There is a problem with Windows handling of DVB cards, some details are in this thread:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=6344&highlight=mce+rollup

    Funkstar

This shows how desperate I am for a solution to this problem that I have this weekend reread the thread you posted for me even though I said I had three tuners working. Here is the posting I posted in that thread just now!

"I have been trying to solve running qty 2 Nova-T 500s for qty 4 tuners with no luck. Been searching both Hauppauge and MP Forum desperate for any suggestions. I thought I would point out the following for any other users reading this thread... Since Hauppauge shipped its first NOVA-T 500 I purchase several to get two cards 4 tuners working. I never had a problem with 1 Nova-T 500 working 2 tuners recording at the same time. As a work around I used Qty 1 Nova-T 500 and Qty 1 HVR 1300 (NOT setting up the analog tuner but just the Digital (freeview one) for a total of 3 tuners recording at the same time. I got this working in 4 computers 3 are XP Pro and 1 in XP MCE. No problems what so ever. After reading the above thread I dled dimetriuS second posting of dvbfix.zip (121.0 KB, 178 views) which installed just fine as suggested it would BUT makes no difference in trying to get Qty 2 Nova-T 500's working together in MP or Hauppauge software for a qty 4 tuners. In fact Hauppauge sw does not tune it any tv channels but MP works as the BEST HTPC software available!"

    Just thought you should know!

Hello Everyone Who is reading this thread I started,

Here is the posting I have just posted in the Hauppauge Forum seeking a solution.

I'm not sure how MediaPortal is working now, but in the past it relied upon a database of known devices. Run ScanChannelsBDA-UK and on the first page you'll get a list of BDA devices. There should be Path0 and Path1. Do you see two of Path0 and two of Path1?

    Hi cdldt
Been trying over the weekend to solve this problem and answer your question. First off I have installed the latest Hauppauge Drivers from Hauppauge. I then went to

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/pa...ght=mce+rollup

and dled dbvfix and updated psisdecd.dll and mpeg2data.ax to version 6.5.2710.2732 and confirmed that the update was successful by going to the All Programes>Accessories>System tools>System Information>Tools>Directx diagnostic tool. Before the Update MediaPortal Config under TV Cards only showed 2 tuners for 1 Nova T 500. Dev 1 Path 1 & 2. After updating and rebooting I went into MediaPortal Config under TV and it showed the in addition to the install "2 tuners for 1 Nova T 500. Dev 1 Path 1 & 2" another 2 cards BUT listed as 2 tuners for 1 Nova T 500. Dev 1 Path 1 & 2! I went ahead and added the "extra" 2 tuners and went into the TV Channel setup and pointed all channels to both "extra" Tuners. I did not expect this to work but tried any way to record 4 different channels at the same time as the EPG allowed this without conflicts. In testing as I expected only the first 2 channels recorded. Next I removed all TV Tuners from Media Portal Config TV Tuner setup and started adding from scratch as it were. The setup only saw the Dev1 Path 1 and Path 2 and I was back where I started from One Nova T 500 setup with both tuners working and the Second Nova T 500 installed and not being able to be setup or used....

I did as you requested and dled from Hauppauge ScanChannelsBDA-UK and indeed it did list

    1. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
    2. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1)
    3. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0)
    4. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path1)

Hope that answer your original question....
I have just uploaded the log from the scan for your viewing pleasure. I hope this helps you to help me and other Dual-T 500 people who want to use two cards for two pci slot used for 4 recording tuners!

I then went and installed WinTVCD4_0 to see if Hauppauge software was man enough and here is what I did after rebooting cpu when installation was finished!

    1) In WinTV Channel Manager TV Tuner Inputs only sees 3 digital configs. I don't understand why there is not 4 listings. I noticed the tab Format w as blank and clicking on the down elevator the options were blank with no options showing. Country tab was UK Broadcast tab was antenna as iit should be! Also scanning for services (TV Stations) for each of these 3 digital configs resulted in 0 Services found!

Source Tab. This tab showed Attached Device Order as DVB-T-1 (Nova-DT), DVB-T (Nova-DT), DVB-T-1 (Nova-DT), DVB-T (Nova-DT). Underneath that is a Autoscan button which I clicked and again No Channels were created!

Device Tab. Listed Nova-T and DVB-T-1
    Nova-T and DVB-T-1
    Nova-T and DVB-T-1
not 4 devices but three! When clicking on the "Listed" item the same stats came up for Source and Model number as expected but all three devices listed had the Same Serial Number! 4027350694 which leads me to believe that the hardware signature in both cards are identical as originally suggest in earlier posts!

Channels Tab. This tabbed area had ALL Channel Icon with no listings and 5 other folders with no channels either TV nor Radio!

When I reboot from all of this I double click on the WinTV Icon and I go back into the same routine when I am asked if I want to scan for channels!

I suspect that scanning for channels does not work when there are qty two Nova-T 500 are installed. I am not going to try removing one card to see if WinTV will find channels. I am guessing it will. I don't care about WinTV (although the new look of WinTV 6 is a vast improvement in looks) as I want Media Portal to work with qty two Nova-T 500's! The main purpose of running WinTV software was to see if Hauppauge software would handle qty two Nova-T 500 since MP is having problems. I must point out in defense of MP that after running WinTV which begged to scan for tv channels the Sixth time in which the last time was after a reboot Media Portal ran one TV Card and recorded two channels (without viewing one) perfectly even though Win TV refuses to see any channels in its scan!!!!!!!!!!!! So all in all I lost tons of time in experimentation and writing this up not to forget I had to manually update 2 drivers that MS update should have done years ago! Also posted before in my work around with out those two driver updated I do have Qty 1 Nova-T 500 and Qty 1 HVR1300 installed and able to record 3 TV programs at the same time in four computers!!!!! But it is clear to me that those are 2 different cards with 2 different Hardware signatures!

I will ask again DOES ANYONE HAVE QTY 2 Nova-T 500s working in one computer? How about YOU HAUPPAUGE?

I apologize for my tone but I have been trying to solve this problem since Nova-T 500 was first stocked by Computer 2000 and I have lost too much time just because I am trying to be LOYAL to Hauppauge and not purchase another companies dual tv tuner to solve this problem ie. (Qty 1 from Hauppauge and Qty 1 from "OTHER" manufacturer) works a MP poster has this in his "My Systems" button.

    Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello all Media Portal Developers

Here is my reply after a year of waiting from Hauppauge for a responce and I have been criticized for a simple reply... So I guess it is now down to Team Media Portal.... I have not had time to look at the TV Server as suggested by Media Portal as I have been flat out and it is on things to look at...
    ----------------------------
NOVA-T-500 trouble getting two cards working - Hauppauge UK Forum

    Hauppauge response at last
I tried this quickly in Graphedit -and it works fine. It should be a matter of them building the four graphs in MediaPortal. First tuners output didn't show in the screenshot because of overlay but was on my screen.

    IceHappy response

Sorry I run XP Pro do you have any suggestion for that with Media Portal as Media portal will only see one card = 2 tuners.... Thanks for the reply....

    Hauppauge response
you'd need to ask Media portal to support it - as I showed above using Graphedit (the basic Microsoft DirectX BDA tool) you can run four seperate graphs (one on each tuner) fine, their application just needs build the graphs.
    ----------------------------
I had a one liner complaint that Hauppauge has deleted tons of posts because their products were not working and tons of complaints. I was spanked for my comment which was only a point to new readers that people posting problems have been censored....

This isn't a place for people to moan and go on about conspiricies, it's for users who genuinely want to get some more advanced help to get it. If you have a problem with your card, feel free to post.

    "FAO: UK Support from IceHappy

I have been selling your products from the first release from Hauppauge and you are employed today because of resellers like me!

I was purchasing your products first from Frontline Distribution who then became Softsel then Merisel and now Computer 2000!

Look how long I have requested support and if you look at Media Portal under IceHappy (one of the first UKers to experiment with watercooling) you will see I support Hauppauge.

My moan as you call it is the length of time for an answer and how long I went to document this problem. I also documented in this thread that I could run three tuners and offered that as a workaround as Hauppauge did not respond!!!!

Moaning..... I will keep this post as a representation of how Hauppauge regards long time supporters and resellers...

I will also forward these comments to Media Portal Forum.... Since I have been requesting the same support long before going to Hauppauge forum looking for help."

So there you are Hauppauge now states that they can have qty 2 Hauppauge Nova t 500 cards working for a total of 4 tuners.... Where have I gone wrong....
Thanks Team Media Portal for such an excellent product I sure wished you could get Media Portal working with multiple Nova t 500's!!!

Might be time to try TVServer, working pretty good here with single T500.

Also in TVServer config there is now a "delay in detecting cards on resume" feature which seems for me and a few other T500 users to over come the resume from standby problems, set my delay to 20 secs works fine, reinitialise tuner in powerscheduler has to be enabled also.

Never know, may see 4 tuners. :)

    I hear you Ray

I have one more project that I just got in from the States Koolance newest water blocks for both Xeon and North & South Bridge chipset. Completely rebuilding X6DA8-G2 Supermicro to be one serious Watercooled Blueray HTPC!

Also wanted to wait for maturity of TV Server and was worth the wait as Media Portal is now using the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System for the SVNs updates and I see anyone with the older TV Server must start again...... I will let you know when I have finished with both HTPC and TV Server installation....

Once again I would like to thank Media Portal for such fine HTPC software......

Just updated Nova T 500 to latest driver 4.2 n still no luck

    Hello Media Portal Forum

It was suggest that I run the newest drivers for the Hauppauge Nova T 500 (4.2) to see if there was any change as Hauppauge and many other non users of Media Portal has 2 or more of these Nova T 500 working together. One chap has 8 tuners (4 Novas) installed however he is using Vista and MS included HTPC Software which fails to amuse me. I have also install yesterdays Media Portal latest SVN and received the same results as the past! I am posting a jpg so that you can see the Device Mgr in Xp Pro has no trouble seeing both cards and next to that window is MP configuration tv card screen where as it has accepted the first card and both tuners but turns up its nose at the second card and cannot see tuner 3 or 4.

What I have not said but explained to Hauppauge is this; I can try MP TV Server but I have many disabled people through the years who cannot afford much and I don't get paid by them, running Media Portal! I have their kids, Gkids, GGkids location mapped out in the weather section of Media Portal and most of their equipement except tv tuners have been donated by my local clients who upgrade for speed and pass on their old kit so I can place it with someone who is house bound. For these people I do not profit on the hardware I install just cover cost. I am concerned that for an addition to be able to record more than one card is worth that I am going to have to spend extra time setting up MP TV Server when indeed it is only for one extra card and there is no way these people will be able to have a second machine as I put enough band aids on the existing kit. My motive is charity but also the idea if I can place their mind outside the pain area of concentration for a space of a movie or listening to their favourite music which I converted to mp3 for them then their lives are slightly improved.... I have not had time to play with TV Server for myself to judge how much time it will cost me to update those people who want an extra recorder but my concern is also for how they will understand how to use the "new" bolt on software when they are just getting used to the Media Portal I have set up for them. I try not to change anything as these people are not really end users. Hence when I visit I break out of email their new pixs of relatives and place those in Media Portal Pictures folder....

Is there anyway we can get two Nova T 500 working in the Media Portal 1 ver 0.2.3.0? I hate Bill Gates to winning with his Vista leaving us behind since MP allowed more than one tuner before him.....

    Thanks for listening.
    Best regards

Sorry not sure where your going with this.

TVServer once installed is unnoticeable from the internal MyTV and behaves the same for the end user.

As we have stated previously, there is no development going on with the internal MyTV.

Cannot see your reluctance to try it, you actually may solve your long ongoing problem.

    HiYa
    1. I did not understand that TV Server is transparent once installed.
    2. MP has changed how updates are done and previous installed version TV Server had to be uninstalled reinstalled!!! These old people houses are hotter than I want to stay for long but need to sort out movies music etc. Therefore did not want to spend long periods of time uninstalled reinstalled and training. My schedule is full right now and wanted an easy fix (like Bill Gates gave Hauppauge) and there seemed to be other people in the same boat as myself with MP and the Nova T 500 and everyone thought up to now and have suggested it was Hauppauge dragging their heals. Hauppauge Forum has been revamped and now have UK Support Mod who have finally answer my question regarding more than one Nova T 500 would work, that indeed their product works.... Last and not least there is nobody that can say that the TV Server will work..... Just another experiment....

I hate to sound like I have a bad attitude. I have never done so many updates between two companies with high hope to be let down....... in 24 years that is. Yes I did get an Everex 80286 to truely multi task using Quarterdeck products before Windows and Bill Gates and Intels 80386SX. That was easy except for typing touch style and noticing the delays of the keys appearing in WordStar!!!!!

I will give it a shot next week PROMISE and let you know.....

    Best regards

    IceHappy

PS When MS launched XP MCE to the Trade I was at the first launch and when the speaker stated proudly that MICROSOFT INVENTED THE 10 FOOT INTERFACE! I stood up and asked WHO WAS SHOWSHIFTER.

    Where is Quarterdeck today......
